Well it will be an eventful reunion when she learns that yes the girl did find her friend and who that friend is.,,,
Seriously I have no clue if there will be a reunion.
I mentioned early last month that I had an idea or two for Tiffany that MIGHT come up, and people started saying it was a good idea. My muse decided that it liked the idea and latched onto it with both hands and when I wasn't writing Fire Over Phoenix, I was writing Regret.
So the possibility is there, but I could keep teasing it, or never have it mentioned again. Even I'll have to wait and see.

Below is a stream of conscious commentary I type up as I read the story. There will be details from the story included in it. If you have not read the story yet and don't wish to have details of it spoiled, read no further.
Regret comments
Ms. Corrow has to deal with all that paperwork for a hospital. *lets out a scream of horror* So much writing. Oh, filing, that is nowhere near as bad as having to write a lot of paperwork. Amber shows up and asks Tiffany to help out Iris with her English, being a hospital volunteer I can't imagine everything they have to do. Spends that much time at the hospital, Tiffany is very dedicated.Denver, Colorado
November, 2016
14 years old and on an oxygen machine, what is wrong with Iris? Lung infections do that much damage, it is at times like this you wish you could just heal everyone, at least I do. 14 and having her do English homework on To Kill a Mockingbird, Iris is suffering enough already! Tiffany and Iris have the same taste in books as I do, love fantasy. Iris' condition affects her memory, no, not someone that young, that is too cruel.
Priceless, now why can't we learn about people like her in history class?Smiling, she said. “Yeah that's a good one. Did you hear the famous last words of an 18th century nun?”
The teen shook her head.
“Louise-Marie Therese, I believe, was on her deathbed and let out an enormous fart. She told the astonished onlookers that, 'a woman who can fart is not dead.' She died before anyone could argue with her.”
Mrs. Bellamy assigned To Kill a Mockingbird as homework, a bad idea.
*eyes bug out* Then don't assign them something boring or they will hate, give them an assignment they will enjoy doing. When patients were very sick, the homework was used to help keep a normal schedule and make the girl feel like she was going to survive, to give her something to fight for just a little bit longer.
What kind of illness does she have? The Emerald Watchman coming and she has seen him every year since she was 8, whoa.Even if they used magic to heal her, it wouldn't fix her genes, she'd be in the exact same condition within a year. The few healers with that kind of power who might be willing to help would refuse, there were too many others they could help who would go on to lead long, healthy lives. She was also too sick for a double lung transplant, the anesthetics would kill her.
6 years with this hanging over her head has given her time to plan it all out. Mom, dad, Gabriel, and Andrea, she is leaving behind her parents and two siblings, hard to believe in a higher power when things like this happen every day.“For my funeral, I want everyone to wear something colourful, I'd like yellow, but anything bright is good. And that includes Dad, he has to wear those ugly coveralls all day, he needs some colour in his life. I wanted the ceremony outside, but it's going to be too cold, so make sure the room is bright, lots of light, and pictures of flowers and trees all over. I don't want to be buried, cremate me. And this is really important. I want my ashes dropped somewhere in the middle of the Pacific, not just off shore.”
Tiffany at home unable to focus to read Kiki's Delivery Service, heads to her bedroom, and then to the second bedroom, what appears to be her daughter's bedroom, but is untouched for at least 2 weeks. How did she lose her daughter? That night
Tiffany comforting Mrs. Lee as her son is in surgery to relieve pressure on a broken back, yikes. Roll of quiet support and Tiffany had been on the receiving end of it twice, never easy no matter which end you are on. Oh, good, Mrs. Lee's son is going to be alright. The Next Day
Judy tells Tiffany that Iris wishes to talk to her, patient girl to wait two hours.
A child dying before their parent, is every parent's worst nightmare, at least the good ones. When she'd first volunteered at the hospital, not sure if it was the right thing to do, not sure if she deserved to be around children, Iris had been there, making jokes and playing pranks on the 'noob'. That had helped drag her out of the haze of pain and grief that had become her life.
Still very sick, but the difference between yesterday and today is shocking, how has she gotten better than before? A recovery that huge, don't tell me Iris manifested and either has Regen trait or her body is healing itself as part of a BIT?
Or possibly an avatar, hmm.“I know. I had a dream last night, I was an angel flying through the sky on golden wings. It was just as wonderful as I thought flying would be. It was like I was doing it for real and I didn't want it to stop. Then I woke up and I was able to breathe without feeling like I was drowning. I've been getting better ever since,” she said, her eyes glowed with newfound life and delight.
Jody thinks Tiffany was an actress or singer, huh. Shopping and a nice meal, that might happen sooner than you think, Iris. Eyes turning a lemony yellow, definitely a mutant. Talk to head nurse Gianna.
Good, sensible policy, I like this hospital. Only a handful of mutants through there including one who died from burnout, ouch.Gianna frowned. “If they're potentially dangerous, we isolate them and call in the experts. If their powers aren't dangerous or they have them under control, we treat them like any other child. Why?”
Tiffany knows a lot about mutants, and why did she study the issue so hard, did her daughter manifest, or was her daughter attacked by a mutant? Sees blood on her hands, what happened in the past? Please don't say she didn't recognize her own daughter and attacked her.“All right, when a child manifests, they often get low level regeneration. Their body needs it to create the new organs and changes to their bodies, allowing them to safely handle their powers. This usually helps fix any illnesses or injuries they might have. If she has a BIT, it can even correct existing genetic defects.” She closed her eyes in thought, dredging up old information, trying to forget why she'd studied the issue so hard. “When it's causing major changes, it's usually not very fast, taking weeks or months to finish, sometimes years. It's why young mutants are most affected by burn out, they can push their powers too hard before their new system has a chance to fully develop and control their powers.”
Marsha and Peter Cortanza, Iris's parents, are considered friends by Tiffany. All that to take in in such a short amount of time, I hope they were sitting down. Oh boy, by Tiffany's response she was part of a group who attacked or made life a living hell for mutants in the past, probably H1!. Yup, definitely H1!, her reaction to being asked about the hit squads clinches it. Yes, let someone who knows how the MCO will try to bend the rules go with Iris to get her MID.
All that mucus coughed out in one go, Iris will feel better when it is over, but until it is she is going to be miserable. So fast recovery, it has me wondering what her powers are going to be or if this is just the low-level regeneration all mutants get when they manifest. Being able to do things you haven't been capable of for a long time must feel like a miracle. Candace, Lynn, and Annie, glad she gets to visit with her friends.A Week Later
*winces in sympathy* A cramp like that is brutal. Yikes, rapid growth surge and her body trying to keep up, no wonder she is in so much pain.December
Have mercy and knock her out for a few hours! Just a few hours of sleep before it happens again, her changes are coming fast and very painful. It was the equivalent of going through puberty in a few weeks. The usual muscle relaxants worked for a few hours at most, then the pain and cramps came back.
Aww, Bobby is a little sweetheart. I would read him a story. That many stories, Tiffany is patient and kind. Dr. Adler, please say her first name is Irene. =) Rats, it's a guy. Cold monotone, I don't like that in any doctor.
Good grief, her BIT is trying to change her in weeks instead of months.Tiffany had had to buy her several new ones as the girl had gone from an A cup to a C cup seemingly overnight.
The beginning of wings perhaps, her dream had her as an angel, BIT, or is she an avatar with a very special spirit? Yup, wings, and adaptations for such physiology confirmed. 5'7" in two weeks, considering she was small for her age originally that is a huge growth surge. He may be cold, but he is knowledgeable about mutants and their powers. Oh, he doesn't like her because of what Tiffany did to her own daughter when she manifested, ouch. She thinks she deserves to be alone because of this, Dr. Adler, you obviously can't see how much regret and pain she is still in over that.He poked at two bumps coming out of her upper back, right around her shoulder blades.
Tiffany working in the gift shop, a good idea for the reasons why volunteers work there. Iris snuck up on Tiffany to surprise, dang, getting good with her new physical abilities already. Iris knows it is Dr. Adler making Tiffany depressed, Iris is insightful.Three Days Later
Tiffany, you need to tell Iris about your past and get it off your chest already, holding it in isn't helping anyone.A moment later she was enveloped in a hug. Iris rested her head on her shoulder, “You're my friend. You're practically my second mom. You matter to me.”
The words hit hard. Taking hold of the girl’s hand she began sobbing.
Soaked shirt from tears from offering a shoulder to cry on, been there before.
This story sounds very familiar to me. This sounds like Shisa's mother who is also named Tiffany, but her last name is Shepard. Even the daughter's bedroom is the same! Did Tiffany change her last name or switch to her maiden name after her daughter disappeared?“She was afraid of me. She thought I'd hurt her. And we both trusted people we shouldn't have.”
“Did she run away?”
She nodded. “After she ran away and blocked my number, some people I thought were friends, people I thought I could trust, found out where she was hiding. Instead of telling me, they tried to kill her. I called the police as soon as I heard. We were five minutes too late.”
“They killed her?”
“No,” she said, shaking her head. “She got away from them. She ran away again when she heard the police sirens. She left the city completely.”
“And she never called you?”
Tears began to fall again. “She couldn't. They found a crashed car, out in the middle of nowhere. It had some of her things in it, but she and the driver had disappeared. They never found either of them.” She looked at Iris with a bitter smile. “So my biggest hope is that my daughter is alive and safe somewhere, but hates me so much, or is so terrified of me, that she wants nothing to do with me.”
Well, that is one way to disguise you have wings underneath a jacket. Christmas shopping trip, Iris is jumping into the deep end for her first shopping trip in years. A shop that caters to mutants with GSD who need custom clothing, is awesome. Gloria is good at chatting with customers and helping them pick out clothes with the right colors to match their looks. The next time asks the girl what she wants, Iris has her own ideas on clothing after all these years. Iris's grin, someone capture that energy and bottle it!A Week Before Christmas
Putting on shirts with wings ups the challenge rating by 5+. Golden wings, gorgeous when they finish growing. Nice colors for outfits, she is going to leave here with a whole new wardrobe.
Wait, that was just the fancy clothes and now they have to buy casual clothes, eep. That much on clothes! All that and living off the dividends from stocks and investments, dang. Iris is a survivor, I doubt even Whateley would be a challenge for someone who has survived all she has already.
Good life advice in general imo.“Just remember, nothing is going to happen that you can't handle by yourself, or with a bit of help. It may not be pretty and you may get knocked down, but nothing has to keep you down. Just keep getting back up until you're strong enough to climb over or break down whatever is holding you back.”
Steakhouse, *drools* Tiffany gets Iris all confident, taking her jacket off and the waitress just has to gawk at her wing buds. A long time since Tiffany went shopping like this, if she only knew her daughter is alive and where she is. Yup, everything she is saying, this is Shisa's mother alright.
Trust me, if she goes to Whateley a lot of boys and more than a few girls will notice her.“Ignore them. You need to learn to pick your battles, and some people staring isn't worth your time or energy. You're a beautiful, unique, young lady and will only get more beautiful as time goes on, so you'll get stared at a lot by people. Learn to use it to your advantage.”
The hostess comes up with the bill and says they should leave through the back, trouble in front with a group of H1! idiots. Tiffany goes outside and Darryl is their leader. Oo, Darryl, mentioning her daughter like that, does this idiot have a death wish.
Okay, this scumbag and his friends need to be locked up already. And Tiffany has their number, she will go to jail herself as long as she takes down all of them in the process. With confidence and a little bit of knowledge, Tiffany could face down demons with that confidence.“The Shelley family, March 2013. The 'homeless lizard freak', January 2011. Mark Khan, July, 1st, 2010, you like to brag while drunk. I wonder what the police will find out if I point them in the right direction?” she said.
Mutant healer, if only there were more of them. Or high-level gadgeteers with a specialization in medicine. 2 months, all those changes over two months, not the fastest on record but still very fast. All those years with the hospital as her home and finally leaving, at least she can visit to see everyone.Mid-Morning, Christmas Eve
Her little brother and sister sound adorable. Tiffany, they are part of your family now. Seeing Tiffany happy again is great, now if only Shisa can leave how much her mother has changed and they can have a reunion.“It's a big change, but we're so happy you're healthy and coming home. Your brother and sister are so excited. Gabriel won't stop talking about what powers he wants, and Andrea can't wait to have her big sister home, she already wants to raid your closet.”
4-hour drive in winter to get there, Tiffany has a great car with excellent tires. Ouch, the reason for going to visit Iris though, I hate bullying.Friday, Late February
*eyes turn molten red with rage* Outfit her with a camera on the front and back with audio and visual, catch the little creeps in the act. So most of the town it is no big deal, one group of popular kids her age, always kids like this who think they can get away with anything. I hope Iris smells like urine for a reason than the one I'm thinking of.“She said they were looking into it, but no one has been caught doing it, none of her classmates are saying anything, and when they go after her directly they always have friends who can say they were somewhere else.”
“Anything violent?”
“Pushing, shoving, grabbing her wings, yanking out feathers and running away. But her locker has been vandalized, her books and notes stolen, she's on her third book bag already.” The womans voice was cracking by the end.
Stay with Tiffany until they can sort all this out, please let them find out about Whateley Academy.Monday
Oh, good, it wasn't the reason I was thinking of, still horrible and needlessly cruel. Good plans for Iris, keep her from going stir-crazy.No one tried to pretend it was an ideal situation, it was simply the best they could come up with, after several students put a bag over Iris' head from behind and threw urine filled balloons at her.
I wonder how low of a temperature it can get before it would start bothering her again. Hey, flying in a straight line is more than most can dream of ever doing, plus your powers are still developing. Powers testing time, oh boy.“The cold doesn't really bother me anymore. Being outside or inside feels pretty much the same after a minute or two.”
And the story of who Tiffany used to be begin to come out. Glad to hear those scum went to jail for attempted murder thanks to Tiffany.
Darn you, Dan, now I need the tissues.“I spend so much time volunteering at the hospital trying to make up for the damage I've done in the past. I'm helping you,” she stressed the words, “because you're my friend. You were one of the first people to help pull me out of the hell I was living in at the time.
“I'd just lost my daughter. I had realized that the 'good' I thought I was doing was twisted and did far more harm than good, and there was no one I could blame for what happened. It was all my fault. Then you came into the gift shop and started talking to me. And you came in again the next day and played that silly prank on me making me search everywhere for things that didn't exist. And you kept coming each week. You have no idea how much that helped me,” she said, wiping away the tears that had finally come.
She is giving Iris her daughter's old room, a huge step for Tiffany. Two pizzas, she definitely has an Exemplar's appetite.
Good grief, Iris has a point, reading is fun, but you need more than one source of fun in your life. Visiting her friends during visiting hours, what mischief will Iris try to get them into. Teen volunteer position, hmm, I wonder if this would help her get a job in Doyle if/when she gets to Whateley.
Fly around a gym for an hour, ouch, the endurance test for winged fliers is brutal. Energizer 2, Exemplar 3, no wonder she can fly already and eats so much.Wednesday
Aww, rats, no bending bars.“I wouldn't recommend it. I talked with the tester, you just barely qualify as a level three exemplar. That comes from your endurance, and how strong your wing muscles are. You won't be bending metal bars, or carrying people with one hand anytime soon.”
Dang, her cold resistance is impressive. And flying speed over 25 mph at least.Tiffany poked her in the ribs. “You're getting greedy. You can fly faster than I can legally drive in the city, and you don't get cold until it's about minus forty. I'd save a fortune on heating if I had that power.”
Tiffany is back at her volunteer job and pushing the activity cart around, she overhears a little boy ask Iris something. He thinks she is an angel there to take his brother Ryan to heaven, ouch.Thursday
Dang, got me tearing up again, I hate seeing children suffer. Iris's words to this little boy, she says she isn't an angel, but she sure acts like how I believe one would. He nodded. “He has a hole in his heart, and is really tiny.”
Oh no, a 4-year-old little girl sees Iris and assumes she is an angel there to take her to Heaven, leaving Iris a crying mess. This is why I think religion shouldn't be taught until children are older, if at all. Iris's friends and then Tiffany is there to comfort her, no way she can work in a hospital especially around young children if they keep reacting like this.Friday
Gianna, Tiffany, and other nurses having young children seeing Iris or hearing about her, asking about the angel and if she is there to take someone away, good grief. Short visits to see her friends, try to find something to cover her wings, *sigh*
Gloria to the rescue!
Gloria is amazing at designing clothes and so quickly.“You're thinking of a cloak, a cape usually only goes to about your waist or upper thighs. I was thinking three different kinds, in a few colours, so you can mix and match them with your clothes and the weather. The first is a basic straight back cape that is fitted to fit over top of your wing joints and hang down, I think the bottom would look better straight, but we could go with a diamond look,” she said, showing them the sketch.
Aww, I wanted to see artwork of her in it with a picnic basket. =P“Let's not get that in red, I don't wanna deal with wolves,” the teen said.
Fun activity to do on a day off from her volunteer job, what is there to do in Denver? Iris, Tiffany is right, they aren't your eggs so why worry? Plus there are more than a few bird species that eat the eggs of other bird species. Ouch, sleeping on a wing wrong sounds painful.Saturday
Denver's Downtown Aquarium, ooo, now that is a fun way to spend the day. 4D theatre and mermaid show, wish I could go.
Darn it, people staring and muttering because Iris takes her jacket off, yes, she has wings, get over it already! And no more jacket for Iris, for now, I love how Tiffany is teaching her real confidence. Those mermaids have the skill to pull all this off while wearing a fake mermaid tail. And the mermaids want to meet Iris and Tiffany in private, yay.
Molly, the redhead, Beverly, the brunette, Ami, the Asian woman, and Kim the blonde, codename Muc Mara. Wait, Kim is a mutant with mermaid-based GSD, dang. Oriele, great codename for Iris. Yes! Kim reveals Whateley to them and will chat with them on Monday to get details about Whateley, this is definitely what Iris needs, including Doyle's help for any medical concerns involving her wings and other changes that might still be happening.
Junior High program to get her caught up before starting regular classes in the Fall, great idea. Learn some magic, meep, Iris, that is easier said than done without a Wizard trait.Monday
All that and getting Iris ready to leave for Whateley, Tiffany, you need to rest more once Iris is off to school. Ouch, Iris needs a scholarship or a good job to offset some of the tuition cost for Whateley. Now her place is a home, this is a great thing Iris did with the others from the hospital.Early morning, March 5th, 2017
You have changed, Tiffany, you aren't the same person and deserve happiness. Now let Iris slip the name of Tiffany and her daughter's tale around Shisa, I want a happy reunion.“Hush. You did some bad things. But everyone who helped out did it because no matter what you did in the past, they've only known you to be really helpful and caring, going well above and beyond what most volunteers do. You can feel sad about what happened, but you can't keep beating yourself up over it.”
Yes, Whateley has armed guards, just imagine what kind of idiots who know about Whateley have tried to do once they found out about it. Tanya there and Iris will be in Whitman, chances of Shisa showing up are rising. Crystal Hall food, some 5-star hotels, and restaurants have tried to poach the chefs from Whateley.Early morning, March 6th, 2017
Green flag day, goodie. Pastel asks Tanya if she has seen Shisa, Tanya explains about Shisa and Tiffany doesn't know how her daughter's GSD progressed, rats. Tanya finds out Iris was in a hospital until she manifested while Tiffany muses about Jeannette and what she might look like now. Please, somehow, someway, let Tiffany find out about Shisa's former identity.
Ms. Savage chats with Tiffany about the cottage and the girls living there, and Pastel hasn't been able to find Shisa who is probably hiding in the woods. Don't tell me she found out her mom was coming to Whateley and is hiding from her.
Heh, you met all the friendly students, not everyone at Whateley is that nice, nor are all the staff that competent. Pastel found Shisa and Tiffany doesn't realize the large grey cat is the friend Pastel was looking for. Get a life again when not working at the hospital, good for her.
The story of Tiffany Carrow, I admit even after I saw her daughter's room I still wasn't convinced this was Shisa's mother, the last name threw me quite a bit. Mention of connection to an organization, H1!, her daughter, that finally made it click. 2 years since Jeannette disappeared and Tiffany has been tormented by the guilt ever since. I'm glad she realizes her previous ideas about mutants were wrong, is trying to make amends by volunteering at the hospital, and her close friendship with Iris and her family. She helped out a young girl to have the confidence to live life how she wants and Iris returned the favor by getting Tiffany out of the guilt slump her life has been in. I can only hope by the time Parents Day comes next year that she will come to see Iris at Whateley and meet Shisa properly.
Iris, it hurt to see such a young child in pain, suffering as she did and just accepting she is going to die. It happens too much in the real world I couldn't have handled it happening here. I'm so glad she manifested, gets to live out her life, and had such fun times with Tiffany before ending up at Whateley. I hope we get to see more of her at Whateley soon.
Iris's friends at the hospital, her parents, her siblings, Gloria, Kim, and the other mermaids, everyone was great. Now I'm curious if we see any of them again in future stories.
Thank You for the story comments appreciated and help me know they are being read and liked. Note: My story comments can't nor are trying to replace reading the stories, simply my way of enjoying them and letting the authors know I enjoy them.

-Iris had a number of genetic disorders that I never really described because they weren't necessary for the story. The main one however was Cystic Fibrosis, which causes the body to produce thick, ropy mucus in the lungs, intestines and other organs, leading to malnutrition, poor growth, frequent respiratory infections, breathing problems, and chronic lung disease. Treatment for it has been improving, so a baby born with it today can potentially live to their mid-40's.
Unfortunately for Iris, she had kidney problems and a few others as well.
Her mind however was unaffected. She just forgot about her and Tiffany watching the anime, because she's exhausted, sick and quite literally on her deathbed.
Planning out a funeral is actually pretty common for terminal kids, and sometimes they can get 'creative.
Here's a comedian talking about his experience with a young terminal patient who had an odd request. Somehow it's hilarious, and definitely NSFW.
- And here I thought the bedroom was a huge giveaway about Tiffany's identity.
-Iris's manifestation was working overtime to cure her. Basically her body said, "Holy shit! We're practically dead! FIX EVERYTHING NOW!"
So fast growth, fast healing, and all the lovely consequences of that.
-When I was working on this idea, I knew I couldn't keep Tiffany's last name the same. So I made her go back to her maiden name, which I decided was Corrow, since it rhymes with sorrow. Seemed appropriate.
-
That line is actually a call back to Cat and Mouse Part 1.“Just remember, nothing is going to happen that you can't handle by yourself, or with a bit of help. It may not be pretty and you may get knocked down, but nothing has to keep you down. Just keep getting back up until you're strong enough to climb over or break down whatever is holding you back.”
I wanted to make sure there were connections between Tiffany and Shisa, that weren't just memories. She beat her head lightly against the wall. “Jeannette, what are you going to do? Even if they do get you somewhere safe, no one is going to trust you. H1 will try to kill you, and mutants will want to do the same once they find out who you were. You're going to be all alone.”
Jerkily she changed her clothes. Staring at the mirror she stuck out her chin and glared at her image. “Smarten up, brain. I can handle this. I'm a survivor and a winner. Nothing is going to happen that I can't handle. It may not be pretty and I may get knocked down, but nothing is going to keep me down. I'll just keep getting back up until I'm strong enough to break whatever is in front of me.”
-Tiffany is not only pissed that Darryl mentioned her daughter but that he asked if she'd joined Evolution Rocks.
She despises ER. Not only did they help her daughter run away, but one of their members betrayed Jeanette. Tiffany's plan was bad, but if Jeanette hadn't run away, she would have been relatively safe, had a chance to talk to her mother about a better way forward, and wouldn't have SPOILERS. Hell, if ER had just called child services on her, it would have had better results for everyone, especially Shisa.
And yeah, Tiffany doesn't back down when she is doing what she thinks is right. It makes her very scary.
- I'm not religious myself, but I can see the good in it as well as the bad. In this story it caused problems, but I wouldn't say it was bad, even in the WU, it's extremely rare to see a person who looks like an angel. It's an unfortunate coincidence.
- I wasn't sure what there was to do in Denver in February, but a quick search showed the Downtown Denver Aquarium, and they have a mermaid show. Watching a video, the mermaids are cool.
At first I was going to have the Emerald Watchman tell them about Whateley, but then I realized it would be more interesting to have one of the mermaids be a real mermaid and want to talk to a fellow mutant. I think its a nice little change from a superhero/villain, or some authority figure pointing them in the right direction.
-I forget if it was Dan or Rose, who suggested that Tiffany go to Whateley, and chances keep popping up for Shisa and her to meet, only to never have it happen. But that was what got my muse interested in the story.
Actually what got my muse REALLY interested was the chance to force me to read up on terminal children, deadly childhood diseases, and watch videos from several childrens hospital, and I was seriously considering a scene where Tiffany has to comfort a parent who had just lost a child.
My muse is a sadistic bitch who likes seeing me tear up and cry almost as much as she likes torturing my characters. Honestly a lot of my more heinous ideas come from my Muse thinking, "What is the worst thing that can happen to your daughter that won't kill her?" (That's how I came up with the idea for Tink, when Angel was about 4 years old. I truly hate my Muse.)
But yeah, I wasn't planning on writing this story in April. Then somehow Shisa was mentioned and I was asked about how some of the background characters would turn out, and I said I had an idea of Mrs. Shepard helping out at a childrens hospital out of guilt. Suggestions were made, and I suddenly had a story on my hands, which insisted I start writing it, even though I was in the middle of Fire Over Phoenix 2. (Sorry Astro)
I did have another idea for Tiffany, but I'd already thrown it out as not really fitting. Shisa would have met her mother just before going to Whateley (there would have been a good reason for it happening), and a broken Mrs. Shepard freaking out, screaming that it was a sick joke and that Shisa couldn't be her daughter. It would have been tragic but it didn't fit in my head.
So yeah, I didn't plot this into Shisa's overall storyline, and I still don't know how it will fit.
Iris may show up as a side character later, or may be relegated to a background spot, either way she won't show up in a story until Gen2 reaches March 2017. Shisa MAY be reunited with her mother, or it may never happen.
With the characters from the hospital and Denver, I don't know what will happen with them. I wanted to make it feel like the hospital and city were alive, but 100% of the focus had to be on Tiffany and Iris' interacting. So some of them may show up in the future, but I'll need a good reason for them to show up. Maybe someone else can use them in a Denver story.

And a sword in her other hand. Iris doesn't seem the type to go down meekly.
So close, yet so far away.
Hmmm, I wonder if photo shoot of Dragonsfyre and Oriele will be done or requested.
A well written tale, I was wondering where it was going from the start, there were so many places it could have gone. I'm glad to see that Iris got to find out about Whateley. What a great place to hide a Mermaid mutant than a mermaid show. I bet very few suspect.
It is nice to see some of the difficulty and problems involved in the process of changing.
I'm guessing at some point Shisa will here Iris talking about her mom and hopefully they can reconnect.

Fun activity to do on a day off from her volunteer job, what is there to do in Denver?
There's also the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, which has a nice view of the city, depending on the time of year.

Thanks for the comment.
You'll have to ask Astro if a photo shoot like that would happen.
No guessing about what will happen between Iris and Shisa. This isn't part of Shisa's overall arc, and I'm still trying to decide where and how this will go. Having them in different years will help keep them a little separate.

or a scythe, that said, if she decides to do a Halloween costume based on RWBY, I'd suspect she has more of a build and temperament for either Yang or Nora

I have been thinking about a calendar photo-shoot involving Morgana in the Spring, could certainly add Orielle - its a 'beautiful GSD fantasy' theme. Either on her own, or with one or more of the other girls. I did actually reference this in a recent DF story
