Friday, September 30th, 2016 – 9:20 p.m.

Vanessa, you need an emergency appointment with your counselor immediately. You learned some new things about your situation that should qualify as needing to see your counselor immediately. Yes, won't be a human mutant, biologically, but you still have the mind of one. If you give up on life, then Blythe and her mother win.

The suicide attempt failed, and you were told you are very durable. Face down in a puddle and hoping to drown, only to be found by the Imp. 7.5 for the dive, Imp, you need to get Vanessa to Doyle so they can get her to her counselor. You slipped. I hope Imp doesn't buy that. Gargoyle reserved for brooding at nine-thirty, Imp, never change. An invitation to join Imp's art class, take it! Swan, there are worse nicknames to be given by the Imp.

“Yes, I’ve heard all about you, Swan, and I’ll be keeping an eye on you,” she replied with a nod, her voice carrying a more serious undertone now that gave me chills. “I look forward to having you in my class, but if you ever want to talk about art, or anything else, come find me and we can find a nice gargoyle somewhere. No more diving, though, save that for the pool.”

Yup, Imp knows what Vanessa tried to do and now will be watching her closely. Shooed back to Hawthorne, you got off easy. Imp at least understands that level of depression and desire to end it all.

Vanessa, you weren't thinking clearly; it is a clear sign of being suicidal. It is the Imp, she at least will take what you say seriously and help out instead of dumping you on someone else to be their problem, like some of the other teachers would.

I made a promise to Danielle that I would live, even if only to spite Blythe. The whole reason I agreed to come to this school was to get stronger, so I could someday bring my former friend and her mother to justice for what they did.

Yes, remember that promise and live for now, even if it is just for that. Oh, good, doesn't want to hurt her new family, another good reason to keep on living. Well, if you don't know about something, then research it or find someone who does, like Circe or Ms. Grimes.

The Tunnels - Workshops
Saturday, October 1st, 2016 – 10:40 a.m.

A get-to-know-you session with Dr. Bellows, you are in good hands with him. *sigh* He makes an appointment that early in the day due to how many students he has to make time for each day. Good grief, you need to open up to someone besides Marie, and he won't read you without consent. Following Polly through the tunnels to find Peter, aka Lab Rat, in the workshops. Seesh, being stared at, Vanessa needs a means to avoid being noticed.

Uh oh, Polly is a packrat who swipes things while in the workshops, from the sound of it. Eesh, Peter gets blamed for something important disappearing when Polly comes to the workshops. Huh, he is going to have to make an improved version of his shrink ray to help out Vanessa, but it is possible.

“I… I’m a kleptomaniac. I don’t mean to take things; it just happens when something catches my eye. I usually don’t even realize I took something until I find it in a pocket or my pocket dimension later. I try to control it, but it’s like my powers when I’m not focusing on them. I… I’ll understand if you don’t want to be my friend anymore. You wouldn’t be the first…”

Aww, poor Polly, that is a sucky condition to have.

Thank you, Vanessa, for being Polly's friend. I knew she was a nice girl, returns what she takes if she can remember where she took it from. Monday, October 3rd, 2016 – 8:13 a.m.

Work in maintenance, a dirty job, but someone has to do it. Up against Helsing in BMA, oh boy. Vanessa, Huntsman is the only one of the Goobers who considers you a monster.

“You… uhh… aren’t going to shoot me with that gun, are you?” I asked with a leery glance at said weapon.

“Nah,” she replied with a grin, “I’d probably have better luck with a fly swatter.”

Okay, so we were joking, joking is good. “That was a joke, right?”

Hehe, someone had to make that joke eventually. I wonder how many foes similar to Sprite that Helsing has had to face. No powers against her, no chance to win, but she does like giving opponents ideas they can use, so sparring with them can help improve her skills.

Boy, that is a lot of good advice for Vanessa from Helsing. A piercing or cutting weapon her size, yikes! I hope the staff keeps Huntsman from harming Vanessa. Information from Helsing on fairies, good idea. Ack! All that history and origin of the words, information overload. An email on it later, close one. Darn spirit giving her a library of knowledge in her head can be more than a pain at times.

There was a lot of very detailed information on Fairies and, by extension, Sidhe as well, since the modern terms seemed to be largely interchangeable.

Eep, just how long is it? Most of it is conjecture or folklore, darn it!

The idea was that our antennae worked similarly to those of a bug and allowed us to sense air displacement.

Not only did that give me some idea of what the hell my antennae were there for, but it also would explain those buzzing sensations in my head. Now that I thought of it, those buzzing ‘headaches’ usually didn’t last long, and they happened most often when other people were moving near me, though they had been getting progressively stronger since I started noticing them. If I could learn to make sense of this ‘sense’ and figure out how to determine range, direction, course, and the general size of what was moving and triggering the sense, then it could give me a big advantage in a fight.

No wonder I have such a hard time hitting bugs while they are in flight. Fast metabolism, I hope sugar doesn't react badly like it did with Tink. Knowledge is power, you never know when some random tidbit of information you picked up will help you out in the future.

Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 – 4:06 p.m.

Learning magic is never easy, even for prodigies. You will get it in time, Vanessa. Becky shows up with good news and bad news, uh oh. Vanessa, until you start to socialize more and let yourself have some fun, you will keep having as many big sisters come into your life as possible. No magic lessons, deal with people that aren't Becky, it's a trap! Oh, someone to fix Vanessa's hair, that is different.

Vanessa, you let slip part of your secret; it is going to come out soon at this rate.

“Okay. Between that reaction just now and those weird hobgoblins of yours, I think it’s safe to say that something is going on with you, something that’s made you afraid to trust people and…”

Vanessa, you made a mistake and regret it. Not trusting yourself is doing more harm than good.

I didn’t trust myself not to go back to form and hurt the people who cared about me or whom I let myself care about. Just thinking about what I’d done, and could do again, was like a knife to the heart, and I found myself gasping for air as I thought about Becky finding out what a monster I really was.

Shit, it is times like this I wish Fubar was still on campus.

This is the salon. On Tuesday and Thursday, the students in the cosmetology classes offer inexpensive hairstyling, manicures/pedicures, and makeovers for students. On Saturdays, they do a whole spa day, but that’s a little more expensive. Don’t worry, though, when I told Suave about you, he offered to work on your hair for free.”

Huh, I never knew there were cosmetology classes at Whateley.

“Like I’ve told you before, I want to be an entertainer. So yeah, in the junior and senior years, there are options for kids who want to have a career doing something other than putting on a cape and tights.”

Well, this is interesting news.

“Cutting the hair of someone your size, yes, but he’s doing it for free because he’s looking forward to the challenge. He’s got a lot of experience with… full-sized people. Suave is a senior like me, and he’s actually the TA for the hairdressing class and teaches the classes when the teacher, Ms. Rourke, isn’t at Whateley. That is fairly often since she has a salon to run in Berlin and likes to spend at least a couple of days a week there,” Becky informed me before opening the door to the salon.

Boy, Whateley just gets more interesting the more we learn about the various classes available. A proper hair salon, I wonder what tools they have not available to the general public. So this is Suave, a unique fellow. Jordan, I wonder why most call him Suave.

Oh lord, I knew Vanessa's birth father was bad, but not that bad. Forced to give up music and try out for the football team, why do they think that is manly? Kiera, aka Lightwing, I wonder where in the South she is from; I can't place the accent. Ooo, the use of test subject has Vanessa freaking out, Kiera quickly apologizes.

“Kiera is a Wizard like you and me, Vanessa. She’s only rated at Wiz 1, so she can’t do any big magic, but she’s very good with creating new potions, and she has one that should work with growing your hair.”

Boy, if she works in a salon and markets that to customers, she could make a bundle.

Ouch, at Whateley due to an incident with H1 when she first manifested her wings of light. Liberty, Mississippi, no wonder she had to come to Whateley, news in a small Southern town travels faster than gossip in a high school. Baseline humans and non-Sidhe, non-Exemplar mutants have a slight side effect from the potion; no wonder it is still in the testing phase. Rapid hair growth in unwanted places, eep.

Sit in a little wooden doll chair, take the potion from an eye dropper, please let there be no side effects. Half an hour as the hair grew, her antennae were itchy as well, uh oh. Aww, Kiera sharing her plans for the future with Vanessa, at a salon where she and her boyfriend work together.

I guess that her boyfriend was some sort of gadgeteer who made his own blends of shampoos and conditioners, as well as a line of various specialized tools for hairdressers.

When she mentioned this mysterious boyfriend’s name, I did a double-take as I looked over at Suave. “He’s straight?! I mean… umm… he…”

Once she finished laughing, Kiera replied, “Straight as an arrow, an’ just as long, Hun. Believe me, Ah know.”

Boy, the act by Suave had me fooled. Leans into the stereotype and gives people what they want. I just hope it doesn't attract any bigots.

No trim for the antennae needed, but they are now fully blue. Good, no side effects, hair growth only where it is wanted. Suave, don't offer a pixie cut to someone stuck as a fairy. Yikes, the threat Vanessa gives, she definitely learned from the Tink videos. Boy, all his practice on those dolls paid off. Suave did an excellent job on Vanessa's haircut.

Friday, October 7th, 2016 – Lunch

You have friends now, just learn to embrace it and stop feeling like you are a monster for one incident where you were trying to protect a friend from your bigoted parents. Polly and Peter are waiting for Vanessa for lunch. What are they so excited about? With Vanessa's rant, I'm wondering if Tink ever used silverware made for her. Peter has silverware perfectly sized for Vanessa. He finished his new version of the shrink ray!

And he is just giving it to Vanessa, what great friends. It is okay to cry tears of joy at getting back something you lost, a month is a long time. All this because they know what it is like to be small in a world not made for their size and for being Polly's friend. Bwahaha, he still won't let go of being older than her even though it is only by 2 minutes.

“A quick warning, Vanessa. The devise can shrink a lot of stuff you might need for everyday stuff, but it can’t do anything complex like living organisms, really dense metals, electronic devices, or machinery with a lot of moving parts.”

That is still a very impressive devise. Oh, good, it will work on things she desperately needs.

Friday, October 7th, 2016 – After Dinner

Ah, the school store, that place is huge, and I bet she hasn't seen the basement area yet. Ouch, need for so much and only so much cash to spend. If not for Becky helping her with the shopping, I don't want to think about her carrying it all back to their dorm room. That is a lot of stuff, I hope she has enough money for all of it. Smart ideas to stretch things out where she can. Oh, good, the refund on the airfare is coming in very handy. Hehe, Lab Rat has an aesthetic for his devises.

Sunday, October 16th, 2016 – 1:30 pm

A stressful week, Vanessa needs some time alone to decompress. Powers testing on Monday. Fairy DNA, Exemplar 2, PK 3, Wizard 3, pretty potent combination. Rats, she still has hobgoblin problems. And they are ones tailor-made to taunt her, that has never happened with hobgoblins before from any of the other characters.

Great, now the MCO will know she can sense air displacement. As if I couldn't hate Vanessa's bio-dad any more, he pulls this. More tests at Doyle, ack. By Friday, she is officially a mutant Fairy. Weekly session with Dr. Bellows on Saturday, and he wished to talk with her about how being a Fairy makes her feel. You opened up to him, even if it was with snark, that is still a win for Bellows.

Huntsman! He is attempting to murder a fellow student. Why hasn't he been locked up in a cell and warned that further such actions on his part could result in his expulsion and being handed over to the MCO for attempted murder? Ouch, she wants to have a relationship, but can't due to her size.

“You know what you did,” I told myself bitterly. “It’s the same damn reason you can never have what they have. Because you could have had that, you had a girl who was in love with you, but you had to stab her in the back and drive her to insanity.”

Vanessa, you know that isn't true. Let the part of yourself that realizes it isn't all your fault do the thinking, Vanessa, or you will start to spiral again.

It was like a knife to my heart, but instead of having the decency to stab through and be done with it, those dark thoughts, self-accusations, and bitter truths slashed away again and again, intent on repetitious agony rather than putting me out of my misery. I couldn’t breathe and my chest burned with sorrow, rage, regret, and shame until I turned away from the two lovers and fled for my dorm room as swiftly as my wings would carry me.

The sessions with Bellows need to be increased to 3 times a week, at least. Crying herself to sleep like that, she needs a lot more help than she is getting.

Oh no, so depressed she doesn't want to eat, yet goes to eat lunch, but thinks she isn't hungry, this is very bad. Noooo! Not the devisor chocolate, please don't let it give her bigger breasts, that would make her more depressed. Good, you know the sarcasm was uncalled for and are trying to apologize in your own way.

Flying to leave the Crystal Hall and smacks right into someone with the same look on their face as she has. It is the guy she met on her first day at school who helped get her stuff to her dorm room. Shannon, why is he more serious than Vanessa? What has happened to him in the weeks since we last saw him? Dang, Vanessa sure knows how to condense everything that has happened to her down. Aww, a nice gesture to share the chocolate bar with Shannon. But this is the first step in Shannon becoming a girl, if I recall correctly.

3/4 to Shannon and the rest for Vanessa, oh boy. Cheered up after snacking on it after dinner, this is going to cause trouble. Snacking on it that much over the next couple of days, uh oh. Ouch, even more growth and finds out others had it happen as well. Even Polly and Grande got hit. Just how many students ate that chocolate? Ouch, BMA in poor-fitting undergarments. The announcement about the breast growth, but to go about their day 'normally' and they would be kept up to date. As if that would keep some teens from panicking. *facepalms* Not that pun. And chocolate to cheer herself up, arrggh.

Tuesday, October 18th, 2016 – Late Morning

You are all underage, they wouldn't ask that, Vanessa. Great, the medical staff's concern about possible complications, so still no idea that the devisor chocolate is to blame. Is Emiko's boyfriend an Ultraviolent? The bras are temporary until they can figure out the cause and a cure, don't call the people trying to fix the issues assholes. The snark is strong with these two. Ugh, I can't believe she made a boob fairy joke.

Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 – Early Evening

Welp, the answer to the issue arrives, and now all the victims have to be examined and tested to figure out a way to fix the problem. Dr. Gutierrez, they must be working all the Doyle staff overtime right now. Oh boy, the cure is a Devisor drug, and her body's DNA is booby trapped so it might trigger it. Welp, I guess she is stuck with larger breasts since she won't take the antidote.

Hawthorne Cottage - Sprite’s Room
Wednesday, October 26th, 2016 – 4:35 p.m.

Ouch, from B cups to D cup permanently. Polly is happy with her growth and tries to cheer up Vanessa along with Peter and Becky. But she spends her free time with Shannon. Yup, I remembered right, Shannon is going through female puberty.

Magic lessons with Becky, and went with her to buy supplies for spell slips. Another excursion to Dunwich on Saturday to Mrs. Rogers' Boutique. On the fly spells without runes or spell slips, oh no. Gah! These hobgoblins, that is just cruel for her own subconscious to conjure up those and torment Vanessa like this.

Oh boy, she passed out, poked awake by Becky who is concerned about her and needs to know whatever issue is hampering her ability to use magic to such an extreme degree. Yes, tell Becky, you can trust her. You aren't a monster and you deserve friends. One mistake, no matter how big, or unintended the consequences, should ruin your life or ability to have or make friends.

Finally! She tells everything, including how she had the best of intentions when she betrayed Blythe, Aiden was trying to protect her from his crap parents. Boy, she let everyting come out, even the fact she is a Fairy mutant now. I'm tearing up with Vanessa.

“You’ve suffered so much,” she said quietly as she held me to her chest. “You’ll get through this, I’ll help you. That’s what friends are for.”

Now I'm tearing up even more, I knew Becky would be there for her, and be her true friend.

A trip to Roger's Boutique, the clothes from there are like nothing you have ever worn. Marie put money into her account to cover the cost of clothes, thank you, new mom. Girls with GSD calender for Venus Inc. That pays a lot, you may not like being a girl, but use it to your advantage for stuff like this. I wonder what kind fo restaurants they have in Dunwich? Elemental Dance Club, I can't wait to see their act.

Marie, Leanna, and Danielle, I wonder if they will all come on Parents Day to visit. Rats, can't play musically instruments for others because shrunken ones normal-sized people wouldn't be able to hear.

After the obligatory jokes about me being a five-inch pianist and playing the world’s smallest violin, Becky got a pensive look on her face.

At least she is joking about her situation not in a self-depercating way anymore.

“I’ll make you a deal, Vanessa. If I can get you an instrument small enough for you to play and be heard doing it, you do me a favor, as a friend, and join my club. I mean, I’ll try to do it for you anyway, but I would really appreciate it if you could join the club. We really need more members to make it official, and maybe you could play for us.”

Take her up on it, you would be great playing an instrument in their club and doing something you love again. Yay! Now to find an instrument like that for Vanessa.

Monday, October 31st, 2016 – Evening

Darn, a collection of rags, at first I hoped Shannon's costume was of Ragman from DC. But he is just a hobo from the sounds of it. Vanessa, never shrink down medicine and use it, it might be smaller, but the amount in it is still the same and could easily overdose you several times over. Oof, Shannon brooding since the chocolate incident.

Apparently, I need friends. Marie, Danielle, and Leanna have been repeatedly trying to convince me to make friends at school since our first video call. Becky thought so too. That stupid shrink that the school saddled me with, Dr. Bellows, seemed to be on their side as well. Every session, he kept telling me that I need to stop blaming myself for past mistakes, make myself more ‘emotionally available’, and make friends who will accept me for who I am.

Vanessa, start listening to them more! You aren't all asshole, or you wouldn't care about becoming friends with others and potentially hurting or betraying them.

*facepalm* You are worth the effort, it is getting that through to you that is like talking to a rock right now. Polly and Peter would help you anyways, they are good people. As for Shannon, you had no way of knowing what the chocolate would do so don't you dare blame yourself for even a part of what he is going through. Bwahaha, pushes Shannon to get out and have some fun, but doing it to see how really damaged you are.
