× This section is open for non-Whateley topics. Please minimize political, religious, or other button topics. We won't punish anyone for making a comment, but we would prefer to avoid massive arguments and trolling is frowned on. There are plenty of other places to go for that... and it is not conducive to this community for us to put up with it. If a moderator / staff / canon author says stop, please do. If we have to ask you multiple times, we may ban you. The community / project is more important than any one person's 'free choice' chasing people away. Disagree? Think we treated you unfairly? Calm down. Come back and talk to us rationally. We aren't monsters. But the site isn't a democracy... and making people leave because you make it less fun to be here? Not acceptable.

Want to write Whateley stories?

If you'd like to write Whateley stories, we're happy to have you. Of course, the process to write as part of the canon team is... somewhat random and not always a smoothly paved road... but just getting involved and writing some stories is easy. The only real requirement is that we ask that you mark the stories as WhatIF (want we call any non-canon story about the Whateley Universe) and link back to this site if you post it anywhere but here. Also, of course, you cannot 'profit' from the stories. The Intellectual Property situation with the WU is complex but the one thing is certain... while we are happy to have people writing non-canon stories, you can't sell them... and we want readers to not be confused about what IS and ISN'T canon.

If you want to write and post HERE on the site, there's two routes to take. One is to post stories in the Fabrication Lab in the Workshop section. Posting stories in forums has a long history, both Whateley and elsewhere on the web, and you are welcome to do so. However, we also offer a second avenue. You can request and get access to the CMS (content management system) and create stories that will be released in the same fashion that we do the canon stories. They will show up in the WhatIF section of our Reading area and you'll have access to some additional private parts of the forum where you can discuss with other authors, non-canon AND canon, things about your work and process.

Interested? Send me (Kristin Darken) a PM about becoming a WhatIF author and I'll get you set up.

Fate guard you, and may the Light brighten your Way.
