Incognito being told by Dr. Tenent to take it easy for the next week, just how badly did Shaun get injured? Cooper, that isn't funny to say to someone still recovering from severe injuries.

“Screw you, Cooper,” he retorted. “If I don't have a bed, I'll make sure you go to class for the next month looking like Bozo the Clown.”

“Don't you dare!” Smile said, giving him a quick hug before returning to her boyfriend. “I like Cooper just the way he is.”

Cooper, calling your girlfriend your attack fairy is going to get you smacked at this rate. Aella's hugs are like being hugged by a huge pillow, I know a lot of people who would love that. Shaun had 2 dozen ideas while in the hospital, Aella was closest in her guess and won the pot from the betting pool, seesh, betting while he is in the hospital.

Talk about the MCO, now what could that be about? Aww, he missed the fight between Absinthe and Centurion. Team Shenanigans is a team that might match Wondercute for hijinxes. Team Hillarious is, a good name for a team with Tink on it, the other names, you can't say Tink isn't confident. Ooo, Shaun brings up forming a team with all his friends. Good idea to think ahead about your next school year, Shaun.

Cooper, Aella, Smile, Jane, and Shaun, you don't need a typical team to be effective. Just look at Wondercute or the Outcasts, they are anything but typical.

“Hey!” Smile said. “Aquerna is a really good team leader for them. And as long as they're careful with Miasma's gas bombs, they're one of the better sophomore teams. They actually listen to each other.”

Whoa, Aquerna is the Underdogs team leader, she has really grown in confidence since we first met her.

Ouch, fear is a strong motivator for wanting to learn how to escape danger better or become stronger. Yikes, Smile's parents are still out there, I hope by this point Gregory has been saved from them. Relativity, cool codename, Cooper. Oof, Jane agreeing to go along with it for her friends, but worried, I hope her past doesn't come back to haunt them again. Team Unexpected is perfect for them. Why is Jane in such rough shape, she is worse off than yesterday. All those foods, does Jane have severe iron anemia right now? Jane, stop being stubborn, you need to go to Doyle now before your condition gets worse. Yay! Jane and Smile can come down for Christmas with Shaun and his mom, and Aella and Cooper can too if they want. Cooper going home to be with his family, Smile can stay with them this summer, but not for Christmas. Let me guess, a lot of extended family coming to visit.

“Tell your mom thanks, but I'm going to a ski resort with my uncle and a few relatives who don't care that I'm a mutant,” Aella said. “He's going all out to make up for my parents being jerks.”

It is good to have family who still cares for you even if it isn't your parents. *eyes bug out* Yeah, Doyle now, this is very bad. Jane, stop trying to be strong and do everything for yourself, accept the help of your friends. Crap, a lot worse than expected, she needs emergency care past tense.

Dr. Tenent, just tell them what you suspect is wrong as Shaun already realizes something is seriously wrong. A tiny microphone is planted on Dr. Tenent, Shaun, you are probably one of the first students to pull that off. Shaun goes to his lab to listen in on what is said by Dr. Tenent and those around her.

Internal bleeding off and on, fused bones, odd healing, could all these be long-term effects from what was used to turn her from Mille to Jane? Dang, that much security for the real report on Jane's condition. The conversation is over and Shaun deactivates the microphone right before Alchemical comes over to chat with him.

Has Jane been living frugally this whole time while having a ton of money stockpiled from her past life? Al is insightful to pick up on things not adding up with Jane, now will Shaun figure out the truth or be led to a red herring instead?

Mrs. Nelson is one of the most intimidating of the house mothers/fathers on campus, I'm surprised Shaun didn't stutter a little in fear. Ooo, a jacket like that would sell like crazy in the Northern states. Smile comes down and Jane got intense after Shaun was attacked, uh oh.

“Her eyes turned blue and she didn't look lost anymore. Whenever we talked about you or Mille, she got a look on her face. It was scary.”

The attack on Shaun brought out the old Mille in Jane, not good. She knows who was behind the attack on Shaun and wants to kill them, please someone somehow calm her down before she does something she will regret.

When talking about Mille and why someone would go after his son Jane slipped up big time, Smile noticed and now there are even more clues as to who she used to be loose. Went to Canada and didn't find her family, came back depressed, and acted like that, that is a sign of severe depression and she should have been seeing a counselor even more because of it.

Smile trying to encourage Shaun telling him she has been there before, but everything will work out. Back at Emerson Shaun gets permission from Mr. Dunne to call his mom. He filled his mom in on Jane's situation including when she was in Canada and came back, a surprisingly short amount of time there. Mom has good advice on the whole situation including not throwing away a friendship over a few secrets. But I wonder how Jane will actually react to seeing Shaun's mother after all this time?

Katherine Solace went to her study, a hidden safe under the floorboards with several USB drives inside. Taking one and booting it up on her computer, a news article on Mr. Fusco and the massacre all those years ago.

The woman had been severely wounded, with an injury to the thigh, broken ribs, and internal bleeding.

Crud, these are the same kind of injuries that Jane has. The file on Jane Fisher, her foster families, her manifesting, and medical information, whoa.

All this and she doesn't trust coincidences. Armed to the teeth with hidden guns all over the house, each well maintained and honing her skills at a gun range.

There was a reason Jane Fisher was close to her son. She was going to find out exactly what that reason was.

Jane isn't getting out her secret being exposed this Christmas if Katherine has any say in it.

A great story, I'm glad Shaun is recovering and on the mend. Seeing him with his friends again was great, they are a fun group with an interesting mix of powers. Jane, I wish she didn't still have so much of her old stubbornness when it comes to dealing with doctors and her health. This could have killed her if she wasn't at Whateley with Doyle and the best medical team on the planet. Shaun, keep your gadgets like that a secret otherwise the Spy Kids will bug you until you break down and join them. And I hope there is at least some happiness during the Christmas vacation for Shaun, Smile, and Jane.

This is shortly after Mr. Fusco went after Shaun because he found out Shaun is related to Mille. So each limb was broken in two places, and he had a severe beating.
I thought calling Smile an attack fairy was cute. And being full of hot air would make hugs comfortably weird.
As for the betting, can't blame them, betting is common at Whateley.

Sins of the Father Part 2. That's her own makeshift healing via her powers, and partial healing by Iaso in Philadelphia. The healer did tell her she needed a week of bed rest. Acting normally, plus a few other things, didn't let her heal properly. So the healing spell ended before it was completed, and all the injuries kept reopening and getting worse.
Considering the injuries, anyone who knew what happened at Fusco's estate would be able to tell Jane was injured in almost identical ways. Hiding the report is essential to keep her safe.

ANd now you see why Jane wanted to avoid letting anyone get a look at her body, the damage to the thigh and wrist are as good as fingerprints for figuring out Jane was the assassin.

I wasn't planning this story originally. I was going to put it all into Jane's combat final story (that's going to be REAL FUN), but thinking it over it fit better by itself and from someone elses POV.
We'll see more of groups powers and things in upcoming Tink and Interest/Wakanda stories. Maybe one or two small stories of Smile as well. When Winter and Spring Semester hit, we'll see a lot more of them.
And we will have a Christmas story featuring Just Me, Smile, Shaun, Katherine and a special guest.
