Given Amethyst's first story, which started with Rika's story when she tried to track Felicia down, that's not surprising.

And yes, I agree that Wondercute will want to recruit Felicia as soon as they meet her, and I expect that she'll be happen to join.

OTOH, people are going to be pointing her in the directions of both Miyet and Cyberkitty, as well. Somehow I don't see them greeting her with open arms.

Jeremy Daniels is the kind of bully who needs a harsh lesson about not picking on others imo. Bullied into doing the creep's book report, but did it badly so he flunked it, good, just what the bully deserves. If you had done a good job he would have just kept bullying you into doing his homework over and over again, best to get it over with.

Whoa, small town. And Jerry's brother Rick is there to help with the bullying, never will understand that mindset. 'Canadian gangsta', oh brother. This kid's father is a jerk, torching his stuff like that just because. And sounds like they are trans, rough in a house with a parent like that. Definitely trans and even has some of the same coping mechanisms I did at that age.

Dirty fighting is the only way to survive sometimes, Jerry had it coming. Rats, hide in the girls' washroom but other girls are already in there. Wendy Gibson and Karen Price, and Karen is Jerry's girlfriend, why universe? And caught before she has a chance to hide, their name is Nathan. And her bluff called, just no luck today. Karen, you little brat. Rick and Jerry outside as Nathan run to escape, why is the universe against Nathan today?

Hehe, Nathan has a good point, Jerry should think of how he phrases his threats. Darn, that didn't work to fluster the bully. And now Principal Taggart wants them both in his office and has a zero-tolerance policy, that kind of BS punishes the victims more than the bullies in my experience.

No bullies or bullied, this man shouldn't be working with kids ever. Jerry was expelled, Nathan was suspended for two weeks, and at least one of the bullies is gone, but what about his brother Rick. Dad is going to deal with Nathan 'later', I'm worried for her safety now. Some interesting named places around there, except that last one.

No privacy in his room, her dad is a creep. A bigoted, misogynistic asshole, no wonder Nathan's mother divorced him. Mom is in the Navy and duties are classified, very interesting. At least she is in contact with her Mom, I hope she takes Nathan in. Boy, that is a lot of security for a phone call.

Okay, Nathan's father is officially a monster, beating your child like that and leaving scars is sickening. Makes his own son do all the housework, yet tells Nathan to man up, arrggh. Nice friend to send Nathan such things, I wonder if Rika is their real name though. Ergan's Tears sounds like a great MMORPG. Aww, big sister and a friend to Nathan. Felicia, a very pretty name, perfect for someone who likes playing a catgirl.

Nice gifts and cute, Rika has good taste. That is how he greets his child coming home. *facepalm* And talking about Nathan like that, I hope we don't have to deal with her father being in the story much longer. Making up excuses and her father responds like that, toxic. Going camping at this time of year out there, he is nuts! *sees red* I want to remove this 'man's' hands and ability to speak.

Great, the one MCO agent stationed up there is friends with her dad. Figures, Dad, and his friends are Humanity First! and Great White North, probably a gang of some sort for the latter.

The large bruise on my cheek and split lip that Dad had left me with the night before last were gone too. There was no trace of them.

Nope, it is really happening, Felicia. Good idea to look it up online. And this is why I said to run away now, Felicia before your dad gets home. All her scars are gone, dang. And yes, you are turning into a girl with changes like that already, a changeling who is trans is lucky. Panic attack at the thought her father saw all this and is coming back with his H1! friends, not an unfounded fear. Oh, good, almost no chance her dad saw any of the changes.

Call your mom! I know you fear rejection, but you have to try, your mom might be a mutant and your dad never knew. Getting out of Churchhill and on the move before calling them, is probably a smart move with the limited time before her father comes back. 3 days until the next train out of town, yikes! Nice plan, but you thought one of the forbidden phrases just tempts fate into messing with you.

Night vision in shades of gray like a cat, only changing physically when she sleeps, which is unusual. That many changes that fast, plus the big appetite upon waking up sounds like it is going to be a fast change at this rate. Nice job of covering up the changes, especially the new red hair.

Hair growing all over your body, you are becoming a catgirl. Whoa, what is up with her body hair that it fried an electric razor like that? Oh no, going to the grocery store for provisions for the trip, could go very bad. Getting the backpack to carry food in is a good idea, but forgetting the bolt bag, oof. Called miss for the first time out in public, Felicia is riding a high right now.

People ignoring a child they know is being abused, is sad in so many ways. Crap, not Jerry, not now. Having to run from him in a town this small is a challenge, I hope Jerry doesn't catch Felicia. Hide in the tour groups on the river, clever. Plus in better shape than you thought, pretty sure you are an Exemplar at least. Danielle aka Dani is 14 and thinks Felicia is 12-13, ouch.

Going by Sarah and rambles when she is nervous, heh. Tundra Inn which is where Dani is staying, d'oh! From Calgary for business, what kind of business is Dani's mom in? Aww, having to give up a girls' night to flee town. Darn, has to rush to catch the train and ends up running right into her father and his buddies, universe, why?

Assaulted by her father and he reveals Felicia's mother is a mutant as well, I knew it! Agent Vern Andernson, great. Interview my butt, Vern is a psycho who shouldn't be left alone with anyone. Felicia tries to joke about an interview only to be punched by her dad, this whole group needs locked up. An insult that Vern doesn't hear and moves closer only for Felicia to kick him hard, dang, Exemplar strength is confirmed to cause that kind of damage.

She is doing a lot of damage with randomly thrown objects, impressive for a first fight. Now, this is a bar room brawl, with Felicia showing strength and more than a little luck that has me curious as to her powers. Air freshener to the face, ouch.

Darn it, ambushed by Dopey with a baseball bat and she is on the ground and being wailed on. Beaten that badly and still alive, Felicia's father plans to finish her off himself. She escapes, but is in bad shape and needs a place to hide fast. Blindly running through the snow and blizzard, eventually across the ice-covered river, she makes it to the forest on the other side of the river before losing consciousness. I hope someone kind finds her.

She has gone into survival mode at this point, waking up to eat to replenish her energy, then sleeping to heal the injuries. Nature provided a snow shelter, nice. Darn it, freaks out for a while about what happened, going to call Rika or her Mom and the phone was wrecked in the fight. Okay, she has to have Regen 3 or higher at least to heal this fast. You are turning into a catgirl with a full muzzle and fur covering your body, I'm guessing one based on a bobcat.

Hey, just because one plan didn't work out doesn't mean you abandon planning altogether. And even a partial plan like this is better than none.

Ouch, any baseline out in this weather would be in much worse shape at this point. She now has a thick fur coat, that helps a lot, well, except in summer. Constant static her fur builds up, she is an Energizer too, isn't she. She finds an abandoned cabin and a fireplace, but all the matches go out before she can start a fire, good grief. Until she blasts electricity from her fingertips into the wood and sets it ablaze, cool. Finally able to get some of her clothes off and get a look at herself, she still doesn't realize fully what she is changing into.

Whoa, she hunted a white hare and caught it, was this a dream, or is she acting without knowing about it? Crud, she wakes up and finds out it wasn't a dream, she really did hunt and kill a white hare, something she considers cute.

Phrasing from Finding Nemo, cute. Drinking from a muzzle and the complexities of it, nice to see that addressed in a story for once.

Your changes are based on a BIT, that of a catgirl based on a bobcat from what we can tell so far. Either that or she is an avatar and that bobcat they saw was a spirit. Goodbye, a cabin in the woods.

Strong sense of smell, I wonder how far off and how accurately she can pick up smells now. Hunting a caribou now, this is going to be rough. Yikes, electrocuted it to death after landing on its back only to be thrown off a ledge, and roll enough to become a giant snowball. Crash into a tree and then snow from the upper branches falls on her, it is like out of a cartoon.

Seesh, living out there survival 101 should be one of their classes in school. At least now she has food for several meals, I just hope her father and his friends haven't been trying to hunt her down this whole time.

Exemplar and Energizer, no wonder the caribou only lasted her two days. Dang, that little trees out there, how is she going to hunt properly? A large stream or small river surprised it is still flowing in the cold of winter. Fish, goodie, I hope she can catch them bear-swatting style. A nice cave to camp out in, at least her luck is turning around some.

She caught a northern pike barehanded, dang. And fishslapped multiple times and then bitten, this fish isn't going down without a fight. Peter Pike shouldn't have upset her, now he and all those other fish are electrifried. Nice puns by Felicia. Darn, no way to cook them, at least she likes her food raw now. And still trying to figure out what she is turning into, I can't wait till she gets to look in a mirror.

Near the Saskatchewan/Alberta border
Late Spring, 2007

Shed her winter coat, good, that would have been a nightmare in the warmer temperatures. All these changes and finally starting to grow a tail. A full-figured girl, she will get a lot of attention for sure, and not just because of her GSD. Dang it, shot in the right shoulder by some idiot most likely who thought she was a wild animal getting too close to their town/city.

The idiot shot and didn't know what he was shooting at, that is rule number one in gun safety! Hunting outside of hunting season too, these idiots need a harsh lesson. Oh great, bigots who think killing a mutant is a good thing and they might get rewarded for it, hate these types of people. Diving into the river to avoid being shot, banged up on a large rock, clinging to a log, and eventually making it to shore before passing out, how many more near-death incidents will Felicia have to survive before reaching her mother?

Woke up and ate part of a moose, at least she didn't eat anything cute this time. Great, a wolverine comes for her kill and she confronts it on instinct, those things are deadly. She is getting torn up, even by her own move to jump and pivot to land on its back. Brutal takedown by Felicia.

Dang, too banged up and tired to move even 20 feet to the moose corpse, this is bad. Wolverine for breakfast at least and into the healing sleep once more. Her left foot is digitigrade like a cat's now, but not the right, oh boy. Break her right foot in a gopher hole, yeah, there has to be a better way. Nope, there isn't, that hurt just reading.

Mid to late Summer, 2007
Early evening

She is making friends with rabbits and a squirrel and naming them, Hana, Natsumi, Yume, and Ayame, and the squirrel is Mio. Making friends by catching them without hurting them. Boy, I thought her transformation would be fast at the start, but all these months later and she is still changing. Practicing socializing with animals, Felicia needs to be around humans she can interact with safely again. And after that last paragraph, she needs to be around people again, and soon for her own sanity.

Somewhere in Northwestern Alberta
September 2007

She is nearing the Rockies, at this point, I doubt her father believes she could have survived on her own this long. Shizuku, she is making friends in this area too, anything to help keep her sane. Darn it, lost Shizuku to a hungry cougar and kills it in retaliation to try and save her, but it is hopeless. She lost a friend, Felicia needs to get out of the woods already before she can't interact with humans at all.

The morning of October 4th, 2007

Crown, cape, and scepter, oh no, she has lost it. All that out here deep in the wilderness, the smell of chemicals, just what is going on. Felicia calling this her domain has me worried for her mental health right now. Weird lake. Lake Kevin, oh no, she is losing some of her human mindset. Are those were-coyotes coming at her?

“I am Felicia, Queen of the Woodlands! Bow before your Queen!”

She is going to need counseling to acclimate back into human society.

Oh, adlets, Canadian cryptids. Wait, this woman observing them has 3 other kinds of cryptids and plans to mass-produce them, great, we have a supervillain. Captain Cryptid, oh brother. Ordering the adlets to kill Felicia, is a bad move.

Fighting back, but not with lethal force, Felicia, you need to fight because your life depends on it.

“Hmmph. Well, I didn't wanna be Queen anyway, it's way too much work. Besides, it was all Tomoko's idea. I don't know why I listened to her, everyone knows that squirrels are nuts,"

Okay, she is going to be a lot of counseling. Climbs a tree and the adlets run right into the lake, this is going to be brutal. She fries them while yelling Pika, but runs right into a big fur wall, I'm guessing this is Fenris.

Crap, werewolf and he swats her hard, this is bad. She can electromagnetically stick to metal, nice to learn that now. Nice Daffy Duck quote. Werewolf charges at her and she detaches from the wall right as Fenris slams into it, that would have hurt Felicia a lot. K.O., one massive werewolf unconscious. And dead, Felicia shows her enemies no mercy.

Wait, what just slammed into Felicia and dragged her that far? A massive beaver in the lake and that woman needs to learn about phrasing. That beaver is dangerous to give Felicia such a hard fight, even if it is in a lake. Whining about not taking Wynonna, the beaver, away from her, only to call out Kevin, the giant squid she had in waiting, ugh.

Darn it, caught in the tentacle of a Kraken. Decked the woman unconscious and Keven goes nuts, great. No hentai! Good, she fought free, got back to shore, finished off the beaver, and dragged the woman back into the metal structure. Captain Cryptid restrained and now to look around her compound. She is finally able to call her Mom's phone, at least.

The code works, her mother recognizes her and calls her Felicia, what has happened in the last 9 months or so? Her mother loves her no matter what she looks like, which has me tearing up. And they traced the phone, yay! A few hours to get to her, after all this time just a few hours, at last. Oh, 7 months and change since this all started, she has been through a lot in a short amount of time.

October 4th, 2007 - 2:15 p.m.

Surprised what you take for granted when it isn't there any longer, so glad she was able to relax for once and just clean up. Felicia, a lot of guys like girls who are thicc. A makeshift dress is perfect for right now, with plenty of time for clothes shopping with your mom later. Kevin never stood a chance... Terrifying mermaid, so this is where she comes from. Her mom shifts into that form when underwater, powerful, scary, no wonder she is in the Navy.

Ooo, PK shell to protect her from Felicia's electricity. Good, Cryptid is being taken in for the MSA to deal with, one less threat in the world.

I knew I heard of her before in another story. Bulwark, Dropzone, and Danarika aka Fallen, I wonder who else is on the team. Fallen is cute. She is Rika and she meant all of her promises, now to get Felicia home.

This story hit hard, Felicia is a lot like I was when younger, sticking to my room most of the time, with various media to distract me from my trans status. I hated seeing her bullied, and the way her father treated her, I feared for her life until she finally escaped. I can only hope with her mother's help they can press charges against him and his buddies for attempted murder.

Her journey was harsh, the brutal fight for survival reminds you of the dangers of the wilderness. And the dangers of isolation from fellow humans for too long upon the human psyche, I was scared Felicia might lose herself near the end there. Interacting with animals isn't the same as with humans.

Her mistrust of most humans is understandable after what her father and his friends, then those hunters, did. Treated like you aren't even human, it is sickening to see. I just hope time will help her to realize most people aren't like that.

And I'm glad my early guess about her mother was right. Can't believe she was a character mentioned in another story, at least I think Barracuda was mentioned in another story along with her team. I can't wait to see her and Felicia along with Rika interact once Felicia has had a chance to recover. I hope the next story will be less fraught with chances of death and more happy times, can't wait until then.
