Silent Mountain Part 6 comments
Josh and Vic work together to disassemble the generator to prevent its impending meltdown, but will someone interfere with them? Boy, if Cole had even suspected something like this could happen he would have gone with them.Saturday, December 24th - 9:46pm
Silent Mountain Base - Level -1 - Generator Room
A water limb into an electrical current, I would be more than nervous. 8 minutes, gah! The risk of getting shocked or everyone dying when this thing melts down seems like an easy choice even if it is difficult. All that work, two minutes but running at normal speed, they still need to work fast to save everyone. Please let them get lucky and have Raffina and Root put the matter to rest upstairs.
Decouple the reactor from the generator, oh boy. Josh, you have to be sure and also watch what you think while in a telepathic conference. Okay, all of this is some of the tensest fine work I've ever seen in anything, I'm on the edge of my seat. Woohoo! No more threat of meltdown, awesome work from Vic and Josh, they make a great team.
Time to take down the enemies, I hope no more serious injuries happen to the kids. Rats, Josh's blaster was a great invention, it proved itself and it needs a better power cell for the next version. Leslie and Root got to the security room and sent messages to Vic and Josh. So glad Barb is down, she might not be the most dangerous out of that crew, but is probably the toughest.
Vic, please be careful, with your spirit recovering we don't know how much you can push your powers or if you can heal yourself again. Vic going after Chad and possibly has to deal with Steve as well, eep. Shut down the silence field, yes please, total silence like this is eerie like something is just waiting to pounce on you every moment and you can't hear it. Ooo, what is Josh going to make with the stuff in the tunnel and workshop area?
New dreams, Josh has the right idea, sometimes life changes and you have to adapt, that sometimes includes your dreams. A large service elevator, time for express trip back up. I hope Vic leaves Chad in need of a hospital.
Dang, no wonder the base is prime real estate for the Syndicate to rent out, that hanger is something else. Ruben is forced to keep the gate open and it is the coldest part of the base, which serves him right. Idiot, if the kids hadn't stopped the meltdown it would have already happened, you miscalculated the strain of using things like elevators would speed things up.Saturday, December 24th - 10:05pm
Silent Mountain Base - Level 3 - Hangar - Aircraft
Ruben, these are mutant kids who are being trained by the Syndicate and one of them goes to Whateley. Plus you should never underestimate kids to screw up plans, it is one of the rules of the evil mastermind handbook. B or C quality tier, boy, either the Syndicate ranked them lower than they should or you did. Uh oh, has Steve found a way to catch up to Leslie and Root yet?
Ruben, only someone like you would think others would lock you inside to die with them due to the meltdown. Steve is up there and helping out Ruben, uh oh, don't tell me Vic is heading towards Steve and Ruben with possibly Chad heading their way. Oh, the energy threshold to ensure meltdown gives a 30-minute window to escape. They would choose a flying SUV of all things.
Henchmen show up, but no frozen Lightning nor Leslie with them, I hope Ruben doesn't go back to check on them. Ruben informed about Root showing up and Barb stayed behind to deal with him. Darn, not taking any chances that Barb was taken down by Root, moves up the plan to escape. 10 minutes to get to the ship or Ruben leaves without them, man, I would hate to be on a team with him, no loyalty at all.
Steve and Chad are on their way, no answer from Barb, they can't be allowed to escape! Good, just leave Lightning and Leslie behind, no need to check what happened.
Ooo, either Vic already got there or Raffina is there and sabotaging them. Yay! The silence engine is down, so Vic got to them in the security room with the book. Ruben, with the weather shield compromised you should find out why instead of saying it will be a bumpy ride.[Weather shield compromised: Port R2 disconnected. Efficiency of the shield at 87.5%.]
Too high of a risk now, good. The sound of something striking metal, Raffina is going all gremlin on the plane's wing and smashing it up! Aww, Ruben is ticked off that she is getting in the way of their escape, too bad.[Weather shield compromised: Ports R1, R2, R3, disconnected. Efficiency of the shield at 62.5%. Imbalance impedes proper deployment]
Gives Guy One the gun to shoot Raffina with while he plans to repair what she broke as best as possible. Even as they come out of the plane she keeps up her sabotage. And she is already out of sight before a shot can go off, they should have hired better henchmen. Out of sight as Ruben plans to make repairs with the henchmen keeping an eye out for Raffina.
Raffina avoids the intended attack, and yes, they have guns in Canada. Great idea, after all they have done to you and your friends letting them escape isn't an option. Rats, left the wooden knife behind when she fled.Saturday, December 24th - 10:18pm
Silent Mountain Base - Level 3 - Hangar - Aircraft
As she looks for another way to attack Leslie talks to her telepathically, one less worry for Raffina. Huh, the echoes of the connection Vic made allowed Leslie to great a telepathic connection at a distance, cool. 15 minutes since Vic and Josh solved the meltdown problem, things are moving fast now. Hehe, Root, you shouldn't be too upset with Raffina, in this situation against unknown foes you lasted longer than most thought you would.
Darn, Ruben jamming the hanger door mechanism cuts off that option to prevent their escape. Crap! Raffina was ambushed by Chad and now is held by her wrists, hurry to the rescue, Vic. Huh, won't kill Raffina because she is a girl, Chad has a weird code. Bwahahah, brings out the energy leeches to copy her power, but it is all just a Wiz trait. I'm curious why she looks the way she does when she uses her powers too.
Okay, that is a little messed up, her dad needs a stern talking to. Mana and darkness-coated tail coming at Chad, a smart move to dodge, don't know what it would do to you. She is fast in that form, and it sounds like Chad tripped over something, I hope it hurt. Back to sabotaging the plane, that form is very useful.“This form isn't a mutant manifestation, it’s that simple. You can blame my dad… He wanted his little girl to have a way to protect herself and just couldn’t wait to see if I would have mutant powers of my own.” Raffina seized the chance to display her slightly higher strength by forcing the man’s arm away.
Chad gets up, about to throw his knife at Raffina as she flees...only to get slammed by a huge fist of water from the side! Vic is here and it is payback time. Electrocuted, shot, that isn't even close to what you put Vic through and planned for his friends, Chad. Chad still thinks the base is about to explode, heh, bet he gets sloppy after a while thinking time is running out while Vic remains calm about it.Saturday, December 24th - 10:26pm
Silent Mountain Base - Level 3 - Hangar - Aircraft
Just how many powers can Chad keep a copy of at one time!?! Fast learner, you have his power, but you don't have his spirit, in more ways than one. Chad, you can't call yourself an adult with the shit you have pulled and said since you have been here. Chad, that is a cheap tactic, use the water tether between you to force the gap closer and attack his wound with the same knife that made it.
Darn it, Chad has the great part of the water tether mass. Dang, Vic is fighting smart to use the ship's wing to force the tether to split in his favor. Chad, just keep mocking him, forget about Raffina in all of this like a fool. Chad using the knife that way, how will Vic win with his own power being used against him, and his foe has a weapon?
Yeow! Vic's arm is cut and Chad is too vicious, Vic needs a weapon to even the odds. Vic, just ignore what Chad is saying, he is trying to psych you out, it is one of the tricks he uses in a fight. A bleeding cut on Vic's right cheek, Chad needs to die already. Nice use of the iron bits to attack Chad, Vic. Vic has a wrench now, I hope it is enough. Oh, wah wah, Vic's powers give you a headache due to the constant focus needed, stop complaining, power mimic.
All that talking masks Steve coming up from behind to ambush Vic, but Vic hits him hard with a water fist. Darn it, down to a quarter of his original water supply. Steve and Chad arguing like this, it is a wonder they haven't killed each other yet. Steve is about to attack Vic, but Censer's meteor hammer comes flying in forcing him to duck. Now it is a fair fight, two against two.
Leslie's telepathic switchboard for communication is great in a fight, not alerting enemies to what you have planned. A silver meteor hammer with wolfsbane incense, Steve is going to be hurting soon. Great upgrade on the chain. Hehehe, nice taunt to use on Steve, his ego won't take that.Saturday, December 24th - 10:33pm
Silent Mountain Base - Level 3 - Hangar - Aircraft
Censer's power over smoke is perfect for dealing with supernatural opponents whose weaknesses can be burned as incense. Steve thinks he sees a weakness in one of Censer's weapon functions, nope, Censer practiced for this scenario, and training trumps raw power. What was the silvery object that Censer threw and cut Steve in the chest?
Edges lined with a silver alloy, supernatural bane weapon! At the other end of the chain was a metallic stake about the size of a large knife.
If the meteor hammer doesn't hit him the stake will, and it is hard to keep track of both.
So it isn't just smoke, interesting power. His power allowed him to zero in and focus on any substance that was dispersed up in the air. Once he did, he had a full sense of its spread and dispersion in the environment as well as a certain degree of control over it. It wasn’t complete control, though. He couldn’t order it to stop in mid air or have it launch itself against the enemy, but he could steer it just slightly to make it count.
Darn, Censer had him and Steve knew it, so the coward fled and forced Censer to give chase. Raffina takes out one of the henchmen, but Steve tries to go after her only for a timely warning by Censer to allow her to sprint out of the way. Close one, henchmen with the gun fired at Censer, and now can't spot him due to the cloud of smoke. Hit in the lower torso by the second shot, so many need healing now. His suit has some resistance to bullets, he needs to get better resistance to bullets than this. Darn it, Ruben and the 2 henchmen chatting now.
Crud, Raffina tries to go after Ruben to take him down but is forced to flee right into the ship's cargo hold and in front of the other henchman. Portal outside of the ship onto the ground with the henchman in time to avoid being shot by the other henchman. About to knock out the henchman when the warning from Censer comes and she is forced to run from Steve.Saturday, December 24th - 10:42pm
Silent Mountain Base - Level 3 - Hangar - Aircraft
Crap! Steve shifted to be more bestial to run on all fours! Dang, she tries to turn things into a makeshift obstacle course to slow him down, but Steve just keeps crashing through them. A spell to climb a wall using her momentum while Steve crashes into it hard like something out of Looney Tunes. Raffina has distance on her side again and keeps running, meanwhile, Censer is told to try and capture the men on the ship.
Close the doors to the hanger and lock them so they will be in pitch black darkness, risky with a werewolf. Wait for the Syndicate to show up and deal with Steve, bad idea, Raffina. He thinks he can use her as a hostage, Steve is one arrogant idiot. Crap! Raffina can't cast any more cantrips for the day and Steve can hear and smell her, this is bad.
Steve, that kind of threat is a bad idea, with the connections her parents have and what the Syndicate will do if you harm or maim her they will make you wish you were dead. Trapped in a long metal container and Steve closing in, who or what will save Raffina? Shadow bolts, so she isn't completely out of mana. The pool of darkness, she lied about being out of cantrips and lured him into a trap. Now Steve is stuck inside the container with no way out.
She could smell, hear, and see him the whole time, and lied about being out of cantrips for the day, disinformation to the enemy and he fell for it.
Man, he is never going to hear the end of this from Chad...if Chad survives this.“And you believed me?” Raffina mused, dusting her hands. “Why would I share something like that with my enemy? If you had a bit of common sense, you would’ve questioned those words from the start… but you wanted to believe that I was an easy prey with no way out. That’s on you. Dumb mutt,” Raffina admonished.
Vic is learning as they fight, adapting and figuring out new ways to get the upper hand. Chad has figured out they stopped the meltdown, but the Syndicate will probably be there soon so his group needs to escape. Nice planned counter by Vic, the knife out of the way, and Steve facing Vic who has a wrench. Whoa... Vic's control over the water is overpowering Steve's, water glove to stop his punch, Vic has a lot more power than he is given credit for even without the spirit's influence.Saturday, December 24th - 10:55pm (Some minutes earlier)
Silent Mountain Base - Level 3 - Hangar - Aircraft
Oh crap, Vic is using the spirit's power, he isn't holding back, Steve pushed him too far.
How much is the damage to his arm, his face, and tapping into the spirit's power now going to accelerate his changes even more than the wound to the stomach already did?“I hoped not to have to use it when dealing with you. I thought I could… But you were right! You’re stronger and had that stupid knife!!” With that he slammed Chad against the ground. “But if change is inevitable and the damage you did was like opening the floodgates… then there’s no point in holding back!”
Despite everything that Chad has done to Vic and his friends he is not a killer, he is a good person at heart. It's okay, Vic, pretty sure Steve is alive, just unconscious for the time being. With Chad bound and secure, Vic rushes off to support his team so they can end this. Darn it, they are about to take off!
Censer nabs the gunman with his meteor hammer, the ship's back entrance closing, and everyone is in a panic as they try to figure out how to stop them. Josh is here and tells everyone to clear the area, just what did he build? A haphazard railgun! Good lord, Josh intends to blow that ship apart. Just what kind of energy cannon did Josh make!?! Blew the ring wing straight off, for something he made in a relatively short amount of time that energy cannon is very impressive.
Raffina is cold, Vic is in wet clothes, and limb covered in water, they need to get back to the barracks for a hot shower soon. Ruben and the henchman were knocked out in the crash, Raffina cuffed them, and they did it, they took out a team of supervillains and survived. Round up the enemy and make sure they are all secured, rats, reward for a job well done. And it is Christmas, what a way to spend the holiday.
