Chrome giving "NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID"

When I try to open any page at , Chrome gives me a "NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID" error message. This is new behavior; it did not do this until now. There was a windows update this morning that might have caused this. I can override Chrome and open the page, but this should not be happening.

I do not know if the problem is on my computer or at , I would like to know how to fix it; if it is at whateley,academy, it should be fixed.

Thank you.

Lol... um... yes. Known issue.

In case you missed it, the site was down for 15 hours yesterday as a result of Google's OS / stack upgrade system not working with our Joomla installation when I tried to upgrade the PHP version. after hours of trying to get this upgrade to work/finish, I gave up and worked to rewind the clock. In trying to restore from a snapshot taken right before I started; it didn't work. The snapshot didn't fix things. Neither did other earlier snapshots, including one that was made literally moments after I installed the new server. So... whatever Google's shapshots are based on, is seriously flawed logic, since you cannot restore from them.

The end result was a restore from a backup made using a Joomla extension. This worked. But by the time I finished, my brain was fried and I needed a break for food and to destress some. I set up a temporary private certificate, but current browsers don't accept those anymore... that's why you got the error you did. You tried to load the site with https without a publically recognized certificate supporting it. BUT, the site was up.

I have now resolved this... creating a new SSL certificate and getting things set up on the site. You shouldn't see an error any further.

Fate guard you, and may the Light brighten your Way.
