Bohemians’ Club, Whateley Academy

Karel Lorenc aka Bohemian Lion, drinking wine from the sounds of it, oh boy. Jennifer aka Scarlyt, Melisande aka Glam, and Jane aka Knock-Out. And they got this stuff from Whiskey's guys, is this the Gen 2 counterpart to 'Shine, I wonder. And Karel is at least smart enough to know the limits of what the club can handle.

Might not be smart to re-package it unless Whiskey gives the ok first.

Thinking they are a step ahead of Venus Inc., revenge clause on the agreement for canceling.

“Yes, we shall,” he turned towards Glam and raised his glass. “Please, make sure they are just mildly inconvenient. We don’t want them to dissolve.”

Still a bad idea to get revenge on Venus Inc. Really don't like Bohemian Lion and his attitude.

Cesar Palicki aka Cestus, I have a bad feeling about any news he might bring. Yikes, Jennifer and Jane are a bit bloodthirsty. Mutant fighting and Cesar thinks doing their own is a good idea, *sigh* *facepalms* I can't believe Karel is considering this idea now because of money, if the fighters don't wear masks it would endanger Whateley's secret and the student's safety. Ah, permission from the school, glad to see they are smart to not try and do this without approval. And the real reason Karel is letting Cesar do this comes out, it figures.

Vic joins the art club, will wonder never cease. Vic, you need to learn to take time to relax, burnout is real and you don't want it to happen to you so young. Making money off of artwork is not a bad idea. Sculpting clay with some form of telekinesis or other power is cool, very impressive.

Vic had a lot of patience and self-control even at a young age it seems. Aww, so sweet to see young Vic and his mom interact like this. Avatar the Last Airbender is great series to binge-watch. 7 years old and he had this much discipline, dang. His mom can project illusions into the mind, whoa, and such a great way to bond with her son. Finding Nemo, what kid wouldn't want animals to be that cute.

Ah, guiding the illusion with her telepathy while Vic shapes it with his mind. Now a horse, no wonder Vic has such focus and discipline for a 7-year-old if his mom has been doing these Fantastic Fridays with him for a while now. A visit to the zoo with Uncle Oscar, Aunt Lily, Uncle Gus, and Danny, nice to see such a close-knit family.

The thing that’d been a lump of clay now resembled a featureless dummy striking a sort of macho pose, with an arm held up and the and the other bent up against his hips, evidently changed mid sculpting.

Whoa, this guy is good.

“I’m an energizer who can project off vibrations, which only happens to affect minerals in the sediment.”

“That just sounds like an earthbender with extra steps.” Vic noted.

“Well, yeah and no. I can’t use it for martial arts,” The guy said with a small chuckle. “But on the flipside, this way all sculptures I do are so pristine.”

That just makes his power even more impressive, it isn't about how powerful a power is.

“Popeye?” Vic blinked.

“It’s for the art class and I happen to be a bit late for the art project. Hear the Imp has a soft spot for old timey cartoons.”

He heard that right, Popeye done in clay, now this I would love to see. Hehe, Imp revealing she has a sweet tooth to Vic, same loveable Imp. Josephine carrying that big box, I guess she is used to it.

So the clay sculptor is Rusty, is that his name or codename though?

“Just trying to make it perfect.”

“Perfect is boring and unrealistic… but you do you, I’ll pretend I’m not seeing you fall behind in your presentation,” she smiled with an amusing shrug.

I like her, wish I had her as an art teacher in high school. And I'm curious about the new piece by Josephine now.

“We usually don’t get applicants before February or march, after we go out on our usual field trip and… the school reprimands us when the Louvre calls the school because they found a Whateley issued pen past the cordoned section,” Josephine explained.

Imp, what did you do? Watercolor pieces are a lot harder to do than most think without having a bleed between the colors.

Ouch, poor Rusty's sculpture, cartoon arms like Popeye has are tough.

“Wonder how long it’ll take for him to realize that he needs to harden the clay and use a wireframe underneath. There’s no way he can make a stable Popeye with that."

“You know about it?” Vic blinked.

“Oh, I know my cartoons.” She said proudly with a beaming smile while pointing at the table. Where Rusty already had some props already sculpted. “I’d recognize that pipe and that sailor hat anywhere.”

Ah, should have kept his props hidden if he wanted to keep it secret.

A test to join the art club, I wonder what medium of art it will be in. Fun test to see what his drawing skills are like, and I understand why she doesn't want it done in either Frank Miller or Greg Land's style. 2nd option, hmm.

“Make cookies that have Thundercat frosting, a sculpture that raises the hand whenever someone enters the classroom or a bazooka that fires T-shirts with our brand. Something that can be shared with the other members of the club… Only condition is that it can’t be fully outsourced. You have to do, at least 60% of the job.”

Good options for a test to join the art club. And now I want to know which students have taken option 3.

Imp thinks Vic is going with option 2, I wonder what he will make. And Josephine is going to the politician's house tomorrow, oh boy, I hope all goes well. Karma causes most of the trouble, that girl needs a babysitter when he mom isn't around.

“But he’s also a politician. A little dirty secret here and there. Who knows what he might have.”

To that Josephine merely rolled her eyes as she turned towards her painting.

Parkour lab

Nice to see Parkour get an official training course since Gen 1, able to simulate different environments too, nice. Chris is there to train, hhm. Rode herself to the edge, where are her rollerblades? And Chris is a pro at Parkour, with moves like these she could be a professional stunt actress when she grows up.

That jump was insane, I can't believe she pulled it off even with her powers.

“That was a rough landing. Are you okay?” Gwen asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Chris said dusting herself off and stretching her limbs. “I’m not sure, but I feel like my body has some sort of innate kinetic dampening. I can take rough landings like that just as well.”

If your body has that ability you need to find out in a safer environment like powers testing! I'm starting to see why Gwen worries so much about Chris. Though jumping off a building and using a grappling gun to slow your fall, I couldn't resist doing that either.

Caro shows up, a movie in Poe cottage with her friends, sounds fun. Aww, Caro is busy this weekend and the next, no going to the theater. Things are better between Caro and her roommate, good, no accidental cursing the entire cottage anytime soon.

These last two were mandatory for those that were going to be traveling above ground level. The belt carried pouches with medical sprays, a radio so that the overseer could contact them and a couple of colored flares for signaling. While the vest was the emergency safety in case of an unprotected fall. If the wearer finds themselves inches from the ground, in a downward trajectory at a certain velocity, it’ll immediately swell itself out into an airbag to protect the user.

The staff thought of everything when they built the Parkour lab.

Caro hasn't been caught for the sleep spell incident, she got lucky. Be careful about magic, a lesson anyone in the mystic arts courses seems to have to learn the hard way. Anime clubs or tabletops, nice to see the clubs being open to visitors. Gwen giving Dereck another chance, good for her.

“Well, it’s been a while since that whole Whitman thing. I think we’re due for some trouble.” Caro smiled. “Could find yourself at the end of the day being carried in Dereck’s arms after a villain who use a clothing-shrinking ray breaks into the cafe nearby.”

“Don’t joke about that.” Gwen said flustered much to the amusement of her friends.

Caro, don't give the universe any ideas!

Couldn't happen to a nicer sleaze. The ideas for raising money, no common sense at all in this bunch, imo. Atomica, after seeing the trick with the hand mirror I'm scared to ask what her power is or fully entails.

Good, Caro's roommate is avoiding Crossby now. Keep their 'business' small, or get caught and busted, Crossby at least sees all the risks. Oh ho, so that is why the staff hasn't caught him yet, his ability to make alcohol disappear somehow is not on his MID due to his father.

“Were it not for some fizzy machines I’ve made to carbonate the drinks and some flavorful extracts that can be sold, I would’ve gotten failed in some of my lab assignments. As far as they’re aware, I’m just trying to mix the better Coca Cola. Or the better elixir if you want me to have a more… humanitarian spin.”

Once they find out, and they will, you are going to be in so much trouble.

Darn, caught already. Glam and Pitfall, someone who has lost so much money to Whiskey's crew wants it back I bet. Trying to buy alcohol for a Bohemian function and Glam has her phone invisible and recording the conversation, not smart with this group.

A mage to make a binding contract, Crossby takes this very seriously. Fake wall, how in the world has a fake wall not been noticed yet? Pitfall reveals all he knows about the Bohemian's upcoming event to Trevor and Peter as they play a friendly hand of poker. Could be a deathmatch, uh, no, the staff said they would shut it down if it got out of control, that is textbook out of control.

Gambling as side bets for the matches, uh oh.

“And it’ll be just about better if you happen to know, who is going to win beforehand.”

Pitfall smirked. “Cesar would never pick up on those details.”

And the fixers aren't going to like this. *facepalm* A match between Cesar and Ratel, the poor guy would be in Doyle for days or even weeks even with the best of care after that. A bear or random animal, I don't like the looks Whiskey's gang exchanged upon hearing that suggestion.

Ack! Get Tavi off there before he spends real money on it and drains Vic's bank account! Oh good, Jimmy did but Tavi trying to sneak back over to the tablet, they need a leash for Tavi. *sides hurting now* Tavi, you knock it off, substitution indeed.

No, not Jack-in-the-box, his wicked sense of humor could get someone seriously hurt.

Only to find that the screen was filled with several anime inspired drawings of buxom girls that almost cluttered the screen as a result of the recent fifty elapsed downloads, courtesy of the laughing ferret.

Bad Tavi! Hentai, Tavi, you need a serious time out, you could have gotten his tablet infected with viruses with that stunt.

“It’s fine,” Vic said with a shake of the head. “I have someone who can give it a thorough cleaning. Though I’ll have to wait till later after classes and my jog around campus.”

Darn it, Tavi. They need to use child locks around him from now on. Powdered juice for the art club project, curiouser and curiouser. Cold gun, or freezing beam, now what is he going to make with frozen juice?

Chris rollerblading through the Crystal Hall with ease, comes upon Mike and is glad he is awake so soon.

“Maybe they did. Can’t say you didn’t deserve a good beating for that invasive trinket you created.” Chris said with a small shrug. “You’re still my classmate, so whether I like it or no, we still have to deal with you for at least a couple more years.”

Chris is a lot more reasonable than most would be after what he did to a friend of hers. A truce offer, Mike, you had best take it and honor the truce. If you come after her friends a 2nd time I'm not so sure Chris would be this reasonable.

Ah, Chris wants to know about the fighting tournament.

“Oh, this is going to be a fiasco,” Mike chuckled, when Chris gave him a look that pressed onto the question, he elaborated. “Fine… This is an event designed by an offshoot member from the bohemians. Namely, he’s trying to make this sort of gladiator’s show for some livestreaming service.”

Gave the Bohemians the remote and gtfo, smart move.

Parkour lab with traps and cameras, on the level of a Japanese game show, Chris, no, just no. They want Chris to fight and think she will be an easy fight, rigged fights, I see how they are doing it now.

Samantha Harris aka Tek Rider spied on their conversation.

“It’s not impossible to get them to agree on this sort of event as long as there is something to be gained.” Mike noted in the conversation.

Within Tek Rider’s mind, the wheels were not only spinning but were forcing themselves into a wheelie and running up a ramp for a way to sate her growing boredom from the lab tinkering.

She would have to wait, though. See how many problems the Bohemians threw themselves into before she would cast her pitch.

*hits head on desk* This is bad, her giving them ideas has a train wreck all over it.

Caro having a good day so far, praise from each of her teachers.

Mrs. Fey said her mana and essence consumption had been as efficient as it could be during the past tasks whilst Mr. Kim praised her skill with the (figurative) pen when he read that short story assignment.

Mrs. Fey, that isn't Fey from Gen 1, is it, as I would think she would go by Mrs. Rielly if she was married.

Illusion spell to look like her old self, now that would come in very handy. Yikes, she was one of the mean girls at her girl with a potential response like that. Sofia Fontana aka Zoo, doing homework on the computer, glad she finally is getting her life turned around.

When Mr. Barton praised the improvement on her work, it was the kickoff encouragement she appeared to have been needing to try to get back into habit these past weeks.

Praise from a good teacher can make all the difference in a student's life.

Old Caroline Hersebeth would’ve re-litigated those memories to get some leverage out of her. Not anymore.

Eep, glad we get to meet the new Caro and not her old self.

Ronnie is good, tablet fixed up that fast and efficiently. Vic, you need to chat with Gwen about the hard drive, and stop avoiding her.

“I mean, before he manifested.” Vic sighed. “Before he became Gwen. I miss those times.”

Ronnie sighed, leaving a moment of silence for Vic to interpret before she spoke up. “It wasn’t easy for any of us. I think it was even harder for Oliver himself when the MCO’s physical told him he was growing breasts. But in a sense, I get the feeling that deep inside, a part of him might’ve been wanting for it.”

Ronnie, never say something like this about someone even if you know them well unless you have specifically talked to them about it. She is happy now, I would still ask her how she felt when she first changed to find out.

Nothing to do, what about the project for the art club? Old Skype account and Danielle Franklin has contacted Vic.

Ronnie must’ve ‘accidentally’ signed him up with his old accounts.

Sneaky move, sis. Video chat, I hope this goes well for Vic. Missing Washington DC, life with his mom and his friends there, 5 years is long at that age. Same classmates for the most part, lucky in a way.

The way she is talking about the wristwatch, something happening recently, did she manifest and gain gadgeteer or devisor powers? Lizzy, Danielle's younger sister, shows up to chat as well. So glad reconnecting with old friends has brought joy into Vic's life. I hope Danielle opens up to Vic next time about something happening recently.

“I see… So, Dad’s still looking for Vic?” Gwen sighed.

“He’s not desperately pulling all resources or anything for that matter,” Ronnie explained with discomfort about it. “He’s just doing it passively.”

“I haven’t told him that he is here. Have you?” Gwen said.

“No… I’ve only told him that I got a message from him telling us he’s okay. It’s not enough to give him peace of mind but it did calm him.”

“I wouldn’t be able to cook up something like that.”

“Then you better practice, because he’s coming to your school to visit on parent's day.”

“Must I? Gwen sighed. “Why can’t he just come out straight to him instead of all this. Why did he even run away, if he was going to end up in Whateley when he manifested?”

“Perhaps money?” Ronnie floated out. “I think I understand his reasoning, even if it’s now exploded into far more than it was supposed to be.”

“Ugh… Can we stop talking about him?” Gwen sighed.

“Sure. Have you been keeping up with shows? I just got into RWBY. I’m loving it.”

Oh boy, their dad is still looking for Vic and he is coming to watch for Parent's Day, this has potential disaster written all over it. RWBY, eep, Ronnie will either be a die-hard fan or disappointed in the direction it goes in.

A part within her wondered if that would be the solution to moving on, just finding new things to enjoy on herself. And yet there was a sense of guilt about the idea, which made for an awkward rest of the conversation.

You and Vic need to sit down, have a sincere talk about everything bugging both of you, and work things out instead of letting it fester.

Leslie aka Ping doing coding with Ronnie, why do I suspect this will be far from normal computer coding with these two involved? Ronnie lives vicariously through Gwen about the Whateley Academy experience. Use of magic to affect the circuitry, I forget if Ronnie's powers have been stated before. A trip to Berlin, uh oh, odds of hijinks or trouble are high on those. Especially on a date with Dereck, it is when you are in your best mood that trouble seems to rear its ugly head.

Whiskey’s hidden distillery

Sofia recapping what the Bohemians are doing and what Whiskey and his crew are doing for the event. Crossby has an advanced distillery. And automated once started, efficient. Peter and Trevor's idea of moving the casino down to the lab, good lord, the damage to the equipment down there would offset any profits by a wide margin.

Drinks to block out anxiety and other negative emotions, Sofia needs to be taught better coping mechanisms. Having Sofia fight Cesar and let him win is a stupid idea.

“Probably not,” Peter noted. “They want to keep it a secret. Apparently, the guy has some borderline rager emotional problems.”

“Are you serious?” Sofia blurted out. “No, no. Get someone else. They have money, I’m sure they can hire it.”

Sofia is a little drunk and even she realizes how stupid this is, yet Trevor and Peter keep pushing her.

“Take one for the team, considering you’ve left us hanging for what felt like weeks now. We’re your friends for Pete’s sake. Do you have any idea of what we’ve been trying to do to get the hangout spot rolling again?”

Guilt-tripping, gaslighting scum! And now Giselle joins in on the manipulation.

“You had your free drinks and we were always there for you.,” Crossby added as he poured down a glass of a colorful drink for himself. “You remember when I offered you the first glass? You were depressed and grieving after your grandmother passed away. We stayed with you, made you feel better and became your friends. Did you forget it?”

Okay, I want to tear into this whole group right now, throwing that back in her face, that isn't what real friends do. Please, someone, help Sofia before it is too late.

Yay! Vic learning to take time to have fun. Tobias Fletcher aka Sedynnor is an interesting codename for a mage.

Toby is a sort of odd avatar/mage combination. Not outright possessed like the ones in campus but instead housing the spirit of a sidhe mage within a polished slab that rested on the nightstand. Supposedly, Tir (her nickname) could possess him and get into his body to provide the needed insight but for the most part stayed out and on the sidelines.

Dang, that seems like a rare sort of avatar.

Elemental affinity, hhm, sounding more and more like Vic is doing a frozen jello sculpture for the art club. Mrs. Kythe, Vic's legal guardian, when was the last time we saw her? Caroline Kythe is a nice woman and doesn't want him in the Masterminds, good. Karma's adventure and the mystical artifacts, nice to see them brought up again, I've been wondering what happened to them.

Caroline Kythe is a current active member of the syndicate’s scouting and on-field evaluations team, as well as a one of the in-house magical consultants focused on enchanted items. Mostly a desk job that broke his preconceptions about the Syndicate as a purely criminal organization.

Cool, I wonder if she has seen any famous enchanted items. Dang, it has been a while, I completely forgot she is Dereck Seaver's mother.

Staying with Caroline and her daughter during winter break, Vic, don't go breaking any more hearts. Insurance inspectors for an underground fight ring, why do I suspect this is connected to what the Bohemians are doing? Boy, the Syndicate works in everything. The call is done and back to the project, Tir has a spell to ward off bugs, now that is very handy.

I like Cole, he's silly.

“I’d pay to know what that’s like. They say it has more magic, laser beams and a good degree of fighting,” Cole said. At Caroline’s roll of the eyes at that last point, he smiled to give away his joking intention.

He may be joking, but if he only knew what Whateley is really like. Ouch, Caroline, you didn't replace Dereck with a kid off the streets.

“Besides, what better way to coax Dereck into upping his ‘son game’ than to give him some competition.” Cole joked only to get a light jab to the ribs.

Careful with the joking, Cole, or you will end up with a lot of bruises from taking it too far.

*winces* This is why you always read reviews of hotels/motels and make reservations at a good one.

“We’ll be offering the full service: Insurance, dental, access to the premium services, Inhouse bodyguards, non-intervention agreement with local hero organizations, construction funds, underground structural engineering, media obfuscation and shadow promotion, web management, magical and cyber security and about two thousand points within our loyalty program.”

For a 20% cut that is a good deal, I would expect 30-40% cut for all those benefits. Yikes, Cole, there is such a thing as restraint. The Syndicate's portal system is impressive.

Caro trying to decide what to do with her Saturday. Tanya guiding Sterling along, Penny Dreadful, and Petshop, now I want to know what Petshop's newest pet looks like. Caro and Sofia have a good interaction, Sofia is a mess due to the drinking and other things I bet.

Sofia, are you really going to help a friend spar, or is this your match against Cesar? Notebook to work on things before putting them in her grimoire, smart. Please let her delete the spell to turn people into donkeys, that type of magic never ends well.

A cat aspect spell, albeit an imperfect one just for small yet practical uses. She already had one that changed her eyes to allow her to see in the night, why not bother with one that would give her the hearing of one, she thought to herself as her hands reached over to feel her ears.

Be careful with spells that cause physical changes, no matter how temporary, for they may cause permanent changes you won't like.

Telekat looking for Rachel, a freshman, aka Ratel, eep. Ratel is grounded, it sounds like she snuck out to fight in the arena. And mention of Emerson, the rumor of the gladiatorial arena, plus Sofia with her combat uniform has Caro going off to find Sofia.

Gwen's dad is a chief within the Rhode Island police department, I would be nervous meeting him too. Aww, cute how they met up and ended up dating. Dereck is unconvinced Gwen is a nerd, awww. These two are adorable together.

Curtis Popeye statue finally coming together, I would love to see the finished piece. Koichi working on a piece, his power is great. Drawings for his father and sister, and already made that much of an impression on Imp, dang. Vic shows up and he is manipulating his sculpture or so it seems.

Strawberry and cherry mix and they have to break it to eat it, the only problem with food-based art, is sometimes it is so good you feel guilty about wanting to eat it. A large mallet to break it, when Karma finds out she is going to be grumpy you didn't wait for her before breaking it.

When Karedonia, Animan Island, the triads, the Yakuza, Russian bratva, the underground circuit of mutant fighters in the Americas and even the Syndicate began to mingle it began to draw the attention of those unwanted. And suddenly, some of the organizers came under threat from some guys thinking the outcome was rigged. Last week, there came a situation wherein a fight exploded in the old locale’s lobby as people claimed foul.

Yikes, don't like the outcome so they call it rigged, cheap tactic for intimidation but unfortunately it works. A modern twist of a Mayan temple, that would draw in crowds just for those curious.

Chris and the others watching an anime, Chris, just because a girl has a boob window doesn't mean you should stare.

Marlene Fisher, also known as Peppercat, was a Whitmanian sophomore who shared plenty of classes with Chris.

Interesting and she is cosplaying as a character called Emilia. Ah, Re: Zero. The anime club is the kind of club I would have loved to join when I was in school.

Custom anime cards, nice. Caro is there and happy Chris came to the anime club's showing, Ouch, Chris puts her phone on vibrate and forgets about it, I know the pain of others doing that. And she is here about Sofia and potential trouble.

They have a great set-up for what they are working with already, the section of wide tables for gadgeteers and mages to work is nice. Why do I get the feeling each of these mentioned fighters' descriptions are references to comic books and other media characters?

Boy, when the Syndicate scouts people it takes it seriously. Ah, so someone else set up Marco's agenda for the day, I pity whoever that is. Caroline proves she is a good healer, aiding those she can. Cole is good at his job, evaluations of each of the fighters are spot on even if the middle age mage gives him trouble. Travis Perse aka Root is looking for a job in the Syndicate.

Curtis Johnson shows up and asks what Caroline is doing there, not off to a good start. Told who they are and acts like the arena is his arena, this guy is trouble waiting to happen. Giving attitude of evaluation of his combat abilities tries to intimidate Cole, Cole spells out what Curtis is to do including apologizing to Caroline, but Caroline decides to defuse the situation instead. I wanted to see Curtis get whomped by Cole.

After all that and Curtis still disrespects Caroline, threatens Cole, he needs taken down a lot of pegs. Travis can't talk about Curtis, rats. Flirting with Caroline. *shakes head* A match between a member of the Mafia, the Yakuza, and the triads, if someone doesn't die it will be a miracle. And I knew it! These are the people Cesar has hooked up with, not good.

Explains about the tournament Cesar is having, sanctioned and overseen by the school otherwise it wouldn't be happening. Drones to film it, oh crud, if those things go out of control with the cameras still active it will be a worst-case scenario. Pixelated all the heads, thank you, Marco. Crap, GSD features seen through the pixelation, not good. Why has Marco suddenly gone silent? Good sentence for a cliffhanger.

Great, high-ranking members of the Amazons and Masterminds, now I'm worried for those they scout as potential talent. Donut's pastries, if they sold those at sporting events he would make a killing. Glam cheering for Cestus, Pitfall watching over the betting stand, Knockout and other members just watching the show, and Scarlyt as the de facto leader, the Bohemians mostly don't seem to care for this event, it seems.

Jeff Hayes aka Lightbulb had to deal with the drones filming the event, they should have given him more time to get acquainted with the tech. A phone call for Jeff, Moreno calling and Jeff didn't know the camera was on already, no wonder that uncensored video got out for a few seconds. Oh good, Jack-in-the-Box's traps are all non-lethal, so good chance of no long-term visits to Doyle for anyone, at least from the traps. Almost time for Cestus and Zoo's match to start...

Caro is led by Chris to the arena, wondering if this is for real, and Caro is worried about Sofia.
Chris brings up a good point, what is Caro's plan for getting Sofia out without getting the crowd watching upset at her?

Rachel is there and plans to just jump into a fight, oh boy. Ratel is upset she wasn't invited because she is a freshman, Cestus is going to come to regret that one. Caro telling Rachel to go back to her dorm room, or else, uh oh.

“I invoke the spirit of the bended labyrinth of Escher.”

Rachel, you really shouldn't underestimate a mage, especially one like Caro. A loop back to the start every time and the only way out is the leave the way she came, and she is too stubborn to do that, trying to erase the chalk lines and break the spell. Rachel, you need to learn when to accept defeat.

Ow, Chris is right, this spell is horribly convoluted, effective though.

“Well, let me make this clear, as long as she keeps trying to move forward and there’s no one there to observe her, the spell will hold… and don’t try to use your clairvoyance to spy on her, I think it’ll break it as well.”

Okay, that makes it a little simpler. The chalk was a misdirection, brilliant.

At the arena finally and Chris knows Sofia is playing the part in the match, Caro has questions for her later as to why.

“Her current limit is about three full different forms every day. She does get around by making partial changes.” Caro noted.

“I see. So, she doesn’t go full animal as often anymore,” Chris said, waving to one of the guys that was passing around some popcorn to get her snack.

“Unless she’s just doing it for the spectacle or an intimidation factor,” Caro noted with a sigh.

Interesting limitations on Sofia's power. Ratel jumping into this match looking for a fight, it could have gotten someone killed if Cestus thought his ego was being threatened.

Sofia is now in the form of a black bear and Cestus is happy as it makes for a better show, the ego of this guy. Idiot asked for this and is getting overwhelmed even when Sofia is holding back, as bravado and no skill. Cestus knocked over into a shockwave mine, into a wall one, then bounced again onto a comedy silly string mine, talk about insult to injury.

The crowd laughing at Cestus now and he tells them to stop it, the taunting continues as he begins to really lose his temper.

“This wasn’t meant to happen! Be quiet. Be quiet. Be quiet! Shut up!”

His eyes suddenly began to turn redder, and many of those present, especially those who knew, took warning of it. His screams grew deeper as his body popped and cracked, starting to swell up. His already prominent physique grew more imposing and bulging. Darkened nails curved into claws whilst mottled fur began to grow along his arms. His lips darkened, along with his nose as, and, in between his orders his fangs grew sharper.

Crud, Cestus has gone into a rage, call off the match now!

Chris is right, a fight where one individual is in control all the time is boring. Werehyena, oh ****. A rager and they thought he had it under control, as I said previously, end the match and get Sofia out of there! No, no, no, someone get Sofia out of there before she is killed. Caro, break your spell and let Ratel come charging in to save Sofia from him, please.

I don't like Marco, watching this match from a remote location, and no concern for if Sofia will live or not. Caroline thinks this couldn't happen without the head of staff allowing it, but is concerned about the state of Whateley from what she is seeing and thinking of moving Vic to another school, eep.

Eye exams, but Caroline and all the fighters lined up for them distracted by the fight between Cole and Root. Root, going after your weaker points isn't cheating, it is forcing you to learn how to adapt on the fly, a skill all good fighters need. Not an Exemplar and not using his powers yet Cole can move like that, dang.

Fighting purely defensively in fear of what your opponent's strength might be is fighting like a child, you have to fight back to win a fight, rope a dope strategy from boxing doesn't work on those with skill and high levels of stamina. Dodging is Root's only skill, some connection to Johnson the current champ, and terribly worn clothes, ouch.

Root is a magic user, hhm.

“I’m Travis Hedgewick. A phylomancer.”

Hhm, tried looking it up and have no idea what a phylomancer is or can do. He turned a small piece of wood into a full-sized staff and charged with magic, now that is more like it.

They believe the organizers, the Bohemians, will jump in to handle this situation. The audience is mostly idiots if they believe that. Sofia gives up and this is Cestus's response.

“This isn’t how the matador ends fights. He slays the beasts”

Someone do something already, he is raging out and lost touch with reality. The Bohemians are busy with other stuff and ignoring what is happening to her, if she is killed by Cestus somehow I would charge them all with depraved indifference at the least.

Crap, injuries in this form severe enough to carry over to her normal form, someone do something already! Whoa, what was that red mist in that trap, and why is it acting as an aphrodisiac on Cestus? Itching powder, good grief. Some of the audience laughs again and Cestus is angry and focused on Sofia once more, just get out of there already, Sofia!

Ouch, she thinks the anger is directed at her, Sofia, this time it is at Cestus and the Bohemians for putting you through this. Ouch, trying to escape and Cestus shoulder checks her hard. She is down, hurting, and he kicks her in the side, ugh. Caro shows up to stop this.

“If you keep on beating on her, you’ll be nothing but a coward.”

Calls himself a champion, he needs to be taken down already. Don't be shy now, Caro, nice rhymes and getting his attention on you and off of Sofia.

A couple of the viewers clapped for her, go Caro, don't let social anxiety stop you now. For a quick rhyme that was epic.

With the sound of fireworks cracking, the orb released a flock of birds made of fire, about the size of hummingbirds up into the air. They crossed the sky leaving trails of red before descending upon Cestus. The junior student might’ve raised his hand to block, if not catch the projectiles, but they still exploded in bright flashes like firecrackers.

An attack spell like this and it can keep attacking over and over, now that is a work of beauty.

Whoa, what does this next spell do? Just seeing it in action, don't tell me those animated strings are now magical mines that Cestus has to deal with? Ah, forced to answer when asked something, good spell. Ooo, a spell that punishes for lying and three lies from Cestus. Bound in place by a bunch of magic string, priceless.

Sofia, if they were your real friends they wouldn't have manipulated you into this fight in the first place, nor lied about knowing about Cestus' anger issues to you. After all this, she still thinks they are her friends. *sigh* Sofia needs help to break off these bad relationships. And finally, get Cestus to see the truth about this rigged match, now go get Sofia to Doyle and tell the staff how the Bohemians didn't shut down the fight even when one of the fighters went into a rage and almost killed the other.

Pitfall upset their lie is out, students upset and now thinking all the matches have been rigged and demanding their money back, I would just end the whole thing now before you get into real trouble. That better not be Marco telling them not to cut the feed. Scarlyt says they are giving up only for Bohemian Lion to show up and stop her, great. He thinks he can salvage this wreck, if I were the staff I would come and say it is over now, plus punish the Bohemians for not calling off the fight when Cestus was trying to kill another student.

He is changing it to a free-for-all brawl-capture, uh oh. Zip-ties to capture them, and bounties on Cestus, Caro, and Sofia, you scumbag, Sofia needs medical attention right now.

Caro thinks of how to escape from the greedy participants coming after her and Sofia. Caro lies about casting something on Sofia and gets trapped by her own spell, darn it. Scum strikes Sofia and the impact hits Caro as well, $200 bucks to attack someone who needs medical care. *growls in anger* Caro going for her dropped blade while seven students bear down on her, yikes.

Chris to the rescue! She grabs a mine on the move and throws it towards the creeps heading for Caro, shockwave mine! Having to break the spell and free Cestus to free herself, Caro and Sofia have a lot to talk about later. Spell broken with Caro and Cestus now free, she starts to cast another spell. What is this spell, I can feel it carries a lot of weight to it. A pact for power with a duration limit, interesting.

*eyes bug out* Did she use a spell involving magical flames to boost her physical strength to equal to a high-level Exemplar? More than that, just a bruise from a blow like that, whoa.

Her forearms were now coated in hard diamond-like scales tipped with dangerous claws. Her arms and… in fact, her body felt taut and compressed, with the magic and power unleashed and channeled with the purpose of fueling up her strength. The borrowed strength of the drake.

She borrowed power from relatives of dragons! Oh boy, the enchantment is burned through faster the more damage she takes, it figures there would be a drawback to such a spell.
