It's not a printer, it's a much more sophisticated version of a spell slip, really. It also uses a much more complex structure than paper.
You'll see more about it when she starts to teach Morgana how to do it. One of the reasons she bought some of that stuff

so how long until Thulia gets her spell printing thing set up (it transposes stored information onto a physical media- in an exact and repeatable way, it's a printer) and how long until others who understand the implications of it find out?

Smart Slip? I underestimated it then, that sounds like it'd be the magical equivalent of a sonic screwdriver and then some (you know without some features only being available for plot convenience or arbitrary limitations for the same plot convenience
Micro scenes and bad ideas are freely adoptable

It's a six foot staff, so those will be pretty big screws
